2018 Recruiting Thread

I'm sure he's thankful for unsolicited advice. How is what you would "like" him to do relevant? You have no say or impact one way or the other.
Eleven years on the board and this is your first post? To lecture another poster on proper posting etiquette?

If we close out this recruiting season with 3 more 4-star recruits, I'll buy everybody on this board a beer!

Your choices will be:

Schimdt's
Stroh's
Black Lable
Colt 45
Schlitz's
Tech
Pearl
American Beer
Keystone
Iron City Light
Olympia Beer

Now, I want everyone to remain calm.

I'm certain these beer selections will overwhelm you!

:eek::eek::):eek::eek:

You need to add Duquesne, Fort Pitt, and Esquire Extra Dry to your list.

I'll trade in all of the above beers not accepted due to quality issues and meet you for a Yingling, ...or two......

as I am getting the feeling that Montgomery is coming to PSU to commit next weekend, if there is room for him. Wouldn't it be a great close to the classfor CJF to somehow take Enis, Walker, Montgomery, and still sign SAB as well?

Would be a dynamite OL class that addresses OT talent and depth, the best WR class in the country, and a DB class that has length and speed, along with a fantastic DL class and talent at every position. I see SAB as a Safety in the hard hitting mold of Allen....

Hey, I like beer as much as the next guy. Just not in recruiting threads. Why is it so hard to stay on topic? Start a separate beer thread if you must, oh and post some good recruiting news here. Thanks.
There is no news. Hence all the non-recruiting stuff.

Interesting that PSU has been offering lots of players from FL/GA the past couple days, including multiple UF leans and a guy who just decommitted from Florida a couple days ago. The Seider effect?

How about a review of names and info about those recruits?

2018 or later?

It took you nearly 11 years to come up with this comment? Must have set you off.

Ha....yeah a great beer brewed by the Ling family of Pottsville, PA.

No doubt this will be one of the artifacts of the Ling dynasty.

th

Love the Lager.... but the Porter, the Boch (when available) are my favorites. The Lord Chesterfield Ale and the Black and Tan are good as well.

The folks here in Tennessee wonder how they ship this foreign beer across the Pacific Ocean using カヌー. We were the first business to get Yuengling to ship their Porter to Tennessee for sale. They stopped because we were the only place selling it..... It was immensely popular with our clientele..... they keep asking for it and I am pissed at our distributor for not promoting it. I may smuggle it in.

Agree with Porter and Bock. My favorites as well. Black and Tan is good too. Lager is okay. Not a fan of Lord Chesterfield Ale.

Two long shot DB's that could be surprises on Feb 7. No inside information, just fishing.

DJ Brown CB / 6-1 /185 /3 Star #4 CB in Wash DC
(St. John's College HS) National Honor Society
Recent de-commit from Virginia. Looking late in cycle to B1G/Midwest (NW, ND, OSU, NE)
Is PSU involved? No overt signs. Could he slip into State College on Feb 2 weekend?
He has one OV left. OSU trying to schedule his last OV on Feb 2 but he may be getting cooler on them

Noah Boykin /CB /6-2 /170/ 4 Star #2 CB Wash DC
Wash, DC (Woodson H.D.)
Recent Maryland de-commit, He's a “tweener” starting at CB and maybe morphing to safety
PSU may be involved (coach Bowen should know him well)

There is a 247 article that states PSU and OSU get last two shots at 2018 CB. Not sure who that CB is but I don't see either of the above with visits scheduled to PSU.

Not doubting you in any way, but as a DMV resident I'm interested in where you found this information. Thanks in advance.

The de-commit info comes from a variety of websites including Land of Eleven (OSU - they are starting to lose hope on DJ Brown. They were hoping to get visit Feb 2 weekend but that is now in doubt. 247 sports is another source on de-commits from Virginia and MD.
This is all conjecture on my part. Lots of little clues but no real data

Awesome. Sounds solid, if you ask me.

DJ Brown seems to fit into your scenario. OSU is trying to get him in Columbus for OV Feb2/3

Looks like Boykin is visiting PSU and OSU this weekend
However, as they say, when one door closes, another one opens. When Big Ten East divisional opponent Maryland lost a commitment from 4-star defensive back Noah Boykin, a standout at Washington (D.C.) H.D. Woodson, it appeared the Florida Gators would be the beneficiary. Boykin took an official visit to Florida on Jan. 19 and de-committed from Maryland shortly thereafter on Jan. 24. Florida was his final official visit, with previous trips taking him to Notre Dame, USC, Virginia and Maryland.

Boykin may not be done quite yet though. As first reported by 247Sports’ Bill Kurelic, and later confirmed by Land of 10, Boykin is considering taking two unofficial visits, to Penn State and Ohio State, this weekend, driving from Washington D.C. to the two Big Ten powerhouses. If this visit does materialize, and that’s still an if, it immediately becomes an incredibly intriguing situation for the Buckeyes. Ohio State is pursuing another player at defensive back. Boykin is a long, athletic corner at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds who could provide the length and speed in coverage that Ohio State’s scheme demands under Greg Schiano.

Your article is talking about Boykin who is visiting PSU and OSU this weekend.

Another CB is Montgomery. PSU is getting last OV Feb 2/3. OSU is not the competition on him.

The third CB decommit is DJ Brown.
