2018 Recruiting Thread

Wiltfong's Crystal Ball for Rasheed Walker back in October was because OSU had the last visit. Back then he acknowledge PSU had the lead. He just doesn't have enough info to make a change right now. Fitz keeping his Crystal Ball PSU along with the VT and Marlyand Insider switching to PSU is a good sign.

You can also say that since he has followed the entire PSU 18 recruiting class, the entire PSU coaching Staff including the new ones Sieder, Corley, and Galiano, along with many of our players, that there is no one left to follow at PSU.

Rasheed Walkers recent Twitter follows are OSU-related people.Penn State should be very concerned about Walker.

Follows aren't sorted by date on Twitter, they're sorted by relevance to the user who is looking at the follows. When I look, it's all Penn State people at the top of the list, plus Gattis. Looking at your own follows is chronological.

There was a wealthy donor behind this former #1 overall recruit's choice and it was well documented. I'm just saying that there is a big history of this at tO$U. Perhaps rivaling what we seen recently at Bama and the SEC. There is a reason that tO$U players have been quoted along the lines of didn't come here to play school.
I think he sold that car to buy heating oil for his Mom's house. What a great kid.

There is a CB today, from Andrew Ellis, for Walker to PSU.Ellis is the quintessential Ohio State homer. He would not CB Walker to Penn State unless he was virtually positive Rasheed would sign with Penn State.
The word was that by this weekend the coaching staffs would have a pretty good idea of where Rasheed was leaning after the in-home visits. If Ellis' OSU people are telling him that Rasheed is PSU bound, I'd say it's a pretty good bet that that's what the OSU staff thinks, too.

I think Andrew Lind is worse. He's the one who says that everything always favors OSU.

Did Phil give any opinion on his show this morning regarding the number of recruits that will end up in the class? How many more that CJF will take?

Walker interview and article. Believe it was premium yesterday, but today it's free.

If he wants to make the most money, surprising that he isn't considering the SEC. From the sounds of it, VT is out. The OSU internship program is interesting. Instead of providing jobs while in school, it sounds like they are guaranteeing jobs upon graduation. I wonder how many boosters are providing these internships and jobs. I doubt internships are likely at PSU with the goal of graduating in 3.5 years. Which raises another question. Are these OSU players receiving these 6 figure jobs even they do not graduate, considering their graduate rate is rather low?

Sounds like he was OSU for money, PSU for relationships. Sounds like OSU was highlighting two things: 1) internships and earnings when finished playing and 2) NFL development. Also sounds like PSU made ground on 1 and 2. The second is when PSU told him that his success depends on how hard he is willing to work.

Bill Greene, OSU insider, put in a CB for Rasheed Walker to Penn State.

If his plan to let coaches know today or no later than tomorrow, then we should know for sure if all of a sudden PSU offers some OTs or they don't. And vice versa with OSU.

I think Walker is now a silent verbal. Dont look for any new OT offers coming out. Will be interesting to see if someone takes Enis's spot if he stays out West.

Any word on Boykin??

Walker's question to the Penn State coaches about how will you make sure I succeed in making me the best Olineman I can be. The way he talks about it seems he's asking because he's trying to validate his choice of going to PSU. What do you guys think?

For 2018? They aren't going to offer an OT two days before signing day. Penn State is in on many blue chip OTs in 2019, 2020. I don't think it would change their recruiting strategy much. Moot point anyway.

Since losing out on the four star Isheem Young, any chance we fill that slot with another DB?

Andrew Lind. Wonder when he switches his CB to Penn State?

JUST A SMALL NOTE
Speaking of Walker, I was told by sources close to his family the above-mentioned visit with Meyer, offensive line coach Greg Studrawa and defensive line coach and area recruiter Larry Johnson went well. He is not conducting interviews at this time, so I was unable to contact him directly for comment.

That said, Walker is likely to keep everyone in the dark on what he's thinking until he makes his college announcement on Wednesday. It's my understanding, though, he'll listen to what Penn State head coach James Franklin and his staff has to say during their in-home visit this evening before taking the weekend to assess the situation with his family.

As I mentioned in last night's edition ofThe Hurry Up, Walker's recruitment is very much a toss up. He has a strong relationship with the Nittany Lions, but the depth chart and the opportunities presented in life after football seems to favor the Buckeyes.

Noah Boykin was said to be visiting PSU on 2 Feb.
He is ****CB from Wash DC. After State College he was said to be heading to OSU for unofficial visit 3 Feb. No news as to whether he actually made those visits.
