Again, I'm setting this up early.

Please use this thread to discuss PSU matches, matches of other wrestlers/teams, etc. If replying to another post, please use the Quote function.

Time:
11 am EDT

TV:
ESPNU

Video Streaming:
All 3 mats will be streamed on ESPN3. You can access the stream, which begins at 11 am EDT, at this link:

http://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/?channel=3e99c57a-516c-385d-9c22-2e40aebc7129&type=upcoming

Audio Streaming:
Byers' radio PBP will be streamed for free. The pre-tournament show starts at 10:40 am EDT, at:

https://gopsusports.com/watch/?Live=255&type=Live

Mat Assignments:
Folks will post them as they learn of them. You can get them from multiple sources. FloArena has them, and TrackWrestling's Dashboard is another good source. Penn State Wrestling's twitter (@pennstateWREST) often posts mat assignments as well.

Team Score:
that can be followed on Track, or on FloArena. IMHO, the best place to follow the team race is on the Penn State Wrestling Club's web site (https://pennstatewrestlingclub.org).

Plans for the tournament: As previously indicated, I will not be around to provide PBP for Session 5. I'm hopeful that one or more of you will step forward to post PBP of RBY's match, and Nick Lee's matches. Lastly, while I'll create a Session 6 Thread, and post in it, by tradition I don't provide PBP during the finals.

PSU Matches in Session 5:

Nick Lee vs. Dom Demas (Oklahoma) in the Consolation Semis
Win and Nick wrestles in the 3/4 match. Lose and he'll wrestle in the 5/6 match
RBY vs. Ethan Lizak (Minny) in the 7/8 match

Thank you for what you do Tom.

How many points is a finals win worth?

And how many points is a win in the other placement matches worth tomorrow morning?

Anyone know?

Thank you for the analyses Tom. This weekend is my first trip to thie wrestling room. My cousins wrestled for Warren, PA from 1959-1961. Wrestling in division 10 was much bigger than BB. Gyms at Warren, Corry, Titilusville, Oil City were always full for our matches. BB hardly ever filled up. District 10 wasn’t even in the top 10 of PA districts at that time. Wrestling was king after football season in rural counties. Thank you for your very thorough analyses. FOS just put an additional charge on premium members for football spring practice. This retiree will be adding BW as my premium board. Thank you again.

DJ Fehlman from Warren went 2-2 at NCAA's this year.
Was rooting for him. He has one more year to try to AA.

There are 7 matches in session 5 that could allow Penn State to earn the team title during this session. We have 3 matches, tOSU has 4. We either need our wrestlers to earn 4 points or tOSU to miss out on 4 potential points (or some combination of the 2).

Isn’t it clinched if/when tOSU fails to get bonus in any single match? EDIT: I see now it would take tOSU failing to get full bonus in any 2 matches.

BTW, if Suriano and Ashnault win tonight (I think they will) my math shows Rutgers securing 10th place. Finally! ;) Of course, that means Goodale will start claiming they’re a perennial top 5 team.

I hope we win the title by Pletcher beating DeSanto 2-1 .... which effectively drops their max to 121.5 then Pletcher celebrates by spiking his headgear ... deducting a team point and guaranteeing us a share.

I kid I kid, Pletcher seems like a great kid who would never do that, just think it'd be funny.

My son is trying to get autographs on a psu picture collage. He’s snagged most of them. Still need Jason, Bo, Nick and VC. If anyone knows of a chance to meet them today, please reply. We are at the arena for session 5 today.

So if Pletcher wins but doesn’t bonus, it’s over

DT is a commentator for this session. Thank you wrestling Gods. Someone who knows what's actually going on in college wrestling!
Damn, sorry I'll miss that. He was really good a few years ago doing commentary on a parallel show that was broadcast during the finals.

Do they do all the matches to decide the medal matches up through heavy, then the actual medal matches? Is that why Nick has a mat but not RBY?

Wow - Rivera looked lost after the first 2 Glory takedowns, but made it happen when it mattered.
