Pretty impressed with Lucas Byrd of Illinois. Gave DeSanto all he wanted, and IMO was the more physical of the two.
RBY's semi-final opponent from NU was also very game and feisty. Both good matches.

Lee works up and sits in for the esc, then drives in for the esc, 3-2. Rivera finally to his feet, and he's out, 3-3. Under 1 min left. Lee with a semi-shot; blocked. Lee is having trouble with Rivera's ankle pick/low single. Lee up, tripped back down, and OOB at 39 sec. Lee up, tries a sit-in, nothing, then a stoppage. Locked handle on Rivera, 5-5. Lee up and he's out, 6-5. Rivera tries another ankle pick, they scramble, but the buzzer sounds, nothing. RT @ 21 sec for Rivera. Rutgers throws a challenge brick (I think they thought it was a TD for Rivera -- call stands).

Wow. Lee gutted that one out. Thought he had it in the third.
I’ve seen takedowns awarded for less. But the karma police took care of it for us.
