2021 Olympic Trials Results and discussion thread

Gilman's problem at the HWC was he didn't have any world-class training partners. When he left he mentioned he hadn't wrestled with Spencer Lee in years (???). While I agree Zain did not look himself this weekend, it could be anything.
I'm just thinking that he hasn't gotten better in 2-3 years and now he has two young guns coming up in the same room in Lee and RBY with one of them having already put it on him pretty good. Then you have Bartlett and SVN coming up after that. Might benefit from being a more central focus in a different room, especially as he gets older.

Does Zain need a change of scenery like Gilman? Seems to have hit a plateau 3 years ago. Might need a fresh approach.

I'd say Penn, but they already have McKenna. Maybe SERTC at VT?
Let it be noted that js has outed himself as a troll this weekend. Maybe a change of scenery would be good for Zain after this OTT but I’d be willing to bet you posted this as bait as evidenced by your “MCKENNA” and “(Aaron) Brooks gets debunked” posts earlier in this thread. Post away, just a PSA for us to keep in mind moving forward

16-8 Victory. Up 8-0 at the break. A lot of things I don't understand happened. Must watch match if you missed it.

Wow Nick Lee.

Two guys on totally different emotional trajectories, but at the very least Nick Lee is on the level. What a tournament.

Clearly due to his hoosier heritage if you ask me.

wow... am I the only one that thinks that Gilman interview was 180-degrees from his past ones? (Think of that Iowa State event he was sent to...)

I had been hesitant to join the Gilman “bandwagon” just because of his “change of scenery “ at NLWC, but the maturity in that interview & his “hanging” with our alumni during the NCAA finals... he really looks like he’s in a “happy place”... so slow the wagon down so I can jump on it! :D
