2021 Recruiting Class Thread

Please not OSU. They already have three top DLine verbals and are the leader for a top ten guy from Washington as well as Malone from NJ

Rivals has him listed as a WR. 24/7 as an Athlete but all the exports there say WR. The staff recruited him as a WR.

So what position do you think he plays at?

Does it really matter what someone here "thinks", when PSU and the PSU coaching staff has him listed as a WR?? CJF will let us confirm his position, or "athlete" designation when he puts Clifford's name up on the "draft" board in December....

I agree. I think we end up with Thorthon, Prather, Clifford. White ends up with the 4th slot. Comparing film, I think White is the better all around athlete and more versatile with size to play multiple positions.

That would be a great haul of WR talent, with White being more likely to grow into a TE or LB.

I will be very surprised if CJF takes 4 true WR's in the 2021 class, with 7 WR's now on the projected 2020 roster from the last 2 classes that have yet to burn a year of eligibility at PSU (6 freshmen and the JC WR Norval Black) 11 new WR's in 3 classes (2019-2021) would be almost a 4 deep for the base 3 WR sets, more than any other position within those recruiting classes. But we'll see....

We have 6 freshman and 10 total on the roster. 3 are juniors, one of which has already been in the portal

This is the year to take a highly-rated Ohio Defensive End (top 300 player) because he does not have a committable offer from Ohio State. None of the Ohio State experts see Najee Story in Ohio State's class this year due to numbers.
Very good point…...does point to OSU getting better incoming talent at a position that in my opinion has been one of the biggest difference makers between the elite and the very good teams...…. not having room for an instate Top 300 d-lineman...….damn.

PSU had players who went other places Iowa, MD, WV, etc. because there was no room, but those players had a chip on their shoulder, and in some cases made a big difference in the game.

I think he suffered a pretty bad injury his sophomore year. I think the staff would probably want to see him in person.

Story could be a numbers casualty or fall back guy for OSU. He also had a very significant injury his soph year that did impact his play somewhat last season. He broke his leg in two spots. Sounds like he should be back to form in 2020 but the cvirus could impact his ability to shine in camps and the 2020 season. Would be great to see PSU snatch him up.

WR Bralon Brown to Ole Miss.

He was one of those guys projected in our class in that RoarLionsRoar article from last week. Not sure why other than the unbridled optimism. A Florida kid who had a prior relationship with Lane Kiffin......

Separately.....two more CBs for Christian Veilleux yesterday. Word is that he might be looking to make his decision in May. We're in a good position, it would seem.

This just doesn't add up.

Another Tennessee mention. There’s not another 6-6 team out there that seems to make the cut on so many recruiting lists.

Tennessee has a big stadium and a large alumni base that packs it when they have any team at all. There were periods of years decades ago where Tennessee had much better teams than Georgia and Auburn, and just about everyone in the SEC except Bama. So it's not a real surprise that Tennessee will eventually come back.

For a good while better than even Bama.

If you're talking ish with your boys on twitter, it's not a big deal to proofread. If you're putting out a tweet that people across the country are going to read, please proofread b4 posting!!

The 247 timeline for a prospect is typically "School X Offers Prospect" or "Prospect Visits School X" or "Prospect commits to School X" and the School X logo is displayed beside the entry...but have never seen this before: "Christian Veilleux's top four includes Clemson..." along with the Clemson logo.

So the marketing strategy apparently now includes a plant at 247... lol :)

Seems like Veilleux committing to PSU is now a matter of "when" rather than "if."

Other observations:
Drew Kendall trending Michigan on the crystal ball.
Rocco Spindler with a handful of CBs to ND over the past few days.
