2023 US Open

Man Joseph Sealey is so much fun to watch. He takes a few losses and gets a bit sloppy at times but he is my favorite kid to watch right now. Just an absolute joy to watch compete

One area I think Barr has an advantage over Facundo in that whole discussion is that he’s just plain stronger. Have seen him suck in a number of singles while extended and fight through a number of whizzers.

Are we all sleeping on Pierson Manville a bit? Kid just lost to Jesse Mendez 4-3 on a last second td. Mendez is a D1 AA while Manville still has another year of high school. He seems to just slide under the radar when we talk about the top kids but he is right there with everyone
I think it’s because Pierson has been so quiet in his recruitment and the other Manvilles have burnt out. But he seems to have a great head on his shoulders in a good career ahead of him.

Brayden Thompson takes out Connor Mirasola 6-1. Thompson was on the world team last year and is a top 5 overall recruit this year

I was thinking similar thoughts earlier today while reading HR. Not sure which one posted it, but the question was about Manville and PSU room being somewhat crowded and maybe the Iowa coaching staff should be visiting State College.
Manville just keeps beating everybody put across from him on the mat.

From all accounts I’m privy to, also a likely get for the good guys regardless .
Gonna be a weird scenario there. Like you said, all accounts are Mason loved his PSU experience and the family is settled in State College. But he good enough to be in the lineup very early at most places and that may not be the case at PSU.

Probably not but we are all super high on Kasak and he’s shown he’s right there with him while being a year younger.

How does Vince Cornella get the 11 seed when he was on the world team last year??
He doesn't. If you look at the brackets, he's the 1 seed. No idea why they keep showing him as the 11 seed on the score bug.

Well SVN and Levi are both title threats as well. I think Shapiro is the best incoming freshman though and fits in perfectly at 149 with Yianni leaving. He wrestles a really fun style. Was U20 world champ last year. I love our guys and would favor them because I’m a homer but Shapiro is going to be great
Shapiro was the Cadet WC in 2021 at 65kg. He's technically a high school senior this year.

The matchups at U17 55kg, 60kg, and 65kg are so good. I love that it’s best of 3. I’m picking Knox, Jax, and Rath but don’t feel confident about any of them
Gimme Knox, Davino and Mantanona. Feel like Davino may be a bit too much physical for Jax and Mantanona has more ways to score than Rath. Though I’d take Rath in folk.

Anybody know anything about this Kavin Mulyeart kid? Looks like a Central Pa kid and just an 8th grader. In the finals of U17 at 45kg.

When brackets first got posted he was the 11 and situated in the bracket as such. Probably just a mistake on FLO’s part because soon after it was changed and he was placed as the 1 seed like he should’ve been. Still has him with an 11 next to his name in certain results though
