2023 US Open

Barr needs to get up to a full size 184 because I don’t think he’ll beat out Sealey for 174 in two years. He‘ll benefit from a RS for sure.

Also, anyone have that crazy Tom Brands interview where he says he doesn’t believe in peaking for college athletes?

Where does he compare to our guys at 149 and 157
Shapiro is on feet a legit high AA/possible title contender out of the box. As with all freshmen, the questions will be on the mat + experience + style matchups. (Yianni is pretty good on feet too, and looked helpless against Gomez.)

He went 14-0 on the Opens circuit while grayshirting, but the Pillsbury Dough Boy thinks that schedule was soft -- zero NQs and most opponents were .500 or worse. Best wins were 8-3 over Hillegas and 14-3 over Pierce.

My bad, misread. Trying to play catch-up too fast , lots of great wrestling psu related to read about, my bad again man
No need to apologize. I was not offended by any of your observations. What we need here is a little more tolerance. We’re all on the same team! You should not have to apologize for doing the best you can. I appreciate all the updates on this forum. Thank you.

I would be shocked if Sealey is a 174. He looked tiny today in pretty much every match. He’s still super young obviously so who knows how much he grows but I think he could be a 157 to start

Yup, size matters. It reminds me of this:

The Law of Gross Tonnage is an accepted nautical convention that when a sea-going vessel has the right-of-way as established by the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 (72 COLREGS), it should nonetheless give way when faced with a larger vessel. This law is regularly invoked in non-maritime situations, such as when a bicyclist with the right-of-way invokes the Law of Gross Tonnage to avoid the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that is about to cut them off.
The heavier vessel always has the right-of-way. There is no explicit directive in maritime regulations or law for the the Law of Gross Tonnage other than it is common sense that giving way and being alive is usually better than forcing one's right-of-way and being dead.
That is unreal. I was literally thinking the exact same thing, almost word for word.

Kennedy Blades on a whole other level! 12-2 against 6 time world champion Adeline Gray. Blades was just too fast. She is going to be a star

Adeline got bailed out in her semi. Blades made sure that wasn’t possible this time. At 32 and after 2 kids, gonna be hard for Gray to keep up with the young bucks like Blades, Welker and Makoyed. Could also see Elor go up next year, though I think she’ll go down to 68 if Tamyra isn’t going,

I thought we might see Adeline leave her shoes on the mat tonight. She's had such an incredible career, but the young women are killers. Like we talked about last night, there's so much talent in the women's ranks, especially in the upper weights!

Adeline not far removed from giving birth. That takes a toll on a woman especially in wrestling. I wouldn’t count her out for the Olympic cycle and she may be thinking the same. Not done with her shoes yet I think.

Oh, I agree. The fact that she's back competing at this level this soon after twins is nothing short of incredible! But even if she didn't have the babies, I think this year might have been the year Blades passed her by regardless.

If Elor goes up we are going to have like 5 women who could medal all sitting and watching. I hate that the Olympics only have 5 weights. Definitely interested to see Elor vs Blades though!

“If Tamyra isnt going” ?

I doubt Elor cares where anyone is. I think everyone else better be worried about where SHE goes.
