Nasdeo will face Lilledahl in the semis.
Just catching up. Summary of early U20 & U17 FR rounds for PSU recruits:

Jace Rhodes of HWC having himself a day. Takes out star OKST commit Cael Hughes after an earlier win over Zeke Seltzer of Mizzou
Mendez, meanwhile, is still winning but it’s clear his horsepower isn’t quite the advantage at 65kg as it was at 61.
Also it’s increasingly clear Augustine was well underseeded at 79 due to his lack of freestyle accolades
I'm not making a joke here. Does that kid suffer from proportional dwarfism? It looked like it to me. Is it politically incorrect to ask? If so, I pre-apologize.
Nasdeo beating Koehler is a huge win. Koehler is a top 5 kid in his weight. Now we get a Nasdeo/Lilledahl semi
At 70kg we have a Shapiro vs Cardenas semi. Shapiro should handle him but Cardenas is super tough. Had a great freshman year at Stanford this past season
Garvin vs Sealey should be great as well with the winner likely meeting Mesenbrink in the finals. Garvin is a redshirt freshman at Stanford and very good. Will be a great test for Sealey

I wanted to ask as well. He has to be. Kid is maybe 4’8” and that could be generous. He is super tough though. Hard as hell to score on

He obviously doesn’t speak for everyone, and he’s not the type to get offended and freak out on anyone, but he doesn’t take kindly to “midget” and things of that nature.
He was a cadet last year and some of the first years are still pretty immature. Our guy keeps a pretty calm head, but when a whole group is laughing and pointing… well, it makes it a bit sweeter to see the tears after he beat ‘em.

Agree. That kid was very tough. I was wondering how the hell Luke was going to be able to get through. He was able to do just enough to get a couple of step outs.
He committed to Stanford last week I believe
Not sure (and no inside info), but I think Neves wanted to verbal to PSU but was told to hold off and eventually got the hint and started looking elsewhere. Or something along those lines. Take it FWIW.
He wanted PSU and obviously was welcome to commit but think Cael was honest about what kind of money he’d get (nothing) as of the date he wanted to commit.
Lilledahl on another level from Nasdeo. Will see Jore Volk in the finals. Volk made the world team last year and had a great freshman season for the University of Wyoming this past season. Volk beat Adrian Meza in a good match. Meza beat Lilledahl a few weeks ago in a bit of an upset. Meza is committed to Iowa State

Onto the finals vs. Illinois commit Kannon Webster, who beat Mendez 5-3. Webster is really good, Fargo JR champ, but beating Mendez is an upset.

My lord Tyler Kasak!! What a massive win! Cornella was the U20 world team rep last year and was the 7 seed at NCAA’s this year for Cornell. Kasak absolutely jumped levels this year with his time at M2/NLWC
