2023 US Open

TD Starocci. 2-0 over Kem about halfway through 1st

2-0 at the break.

Starocci reshot TD. Nice counters on Kem’s shot and then Kem’s scramble. 4-0

5-0 now. Missed something.

TD Starocci. 7-0

TD Starocci. 9-0. Reattack off bad Kem shot. He might be spent.

9-0 final. Almost 1 at end.

I think 3 point TDs might agree with Carter.
Wait ‘til Arnold gets ahold of him.

Morgan tried his own mixer, but couldn't get it. losing on criteria 1-1 after 1.
Schultz's size seems to be a thing, Morgan faded some, but mostly just couldn't create an angle. Loses 1-4

Gable must have a horseshoe up his ass. His whole career based on Tony Toothpick getting hurt and going MMA.

Carter's win was impressive. He continues to improve. Using Kemmerer as a yardstick, you gotta say he's improved a lot. He looked solid as a rock, his reattacks were perfect.
Brooks just bullied his kid. He was like a tank, running the kid OOB over and over.
Cenzo remains the same. When a guy attacks Cenzo, it's like hitting a brick wall. He doesn't budge an inch.

Of note wrestling tonight in semis:

Suriano vs Spencer
Gross vs Desanto
Nick Lee vs Bartlett
Hidlay vs Berger
Nolf vs O’Toole
Cenzo vs Shields
Starocci vs Dieringer
Brooks vs Hall
Steveson vs Parris

Wow

So that’s 5 NLWC guys in Final X. 5 more in the Open semis. 2 (pending 3) former PSU guys for other RTCs in the semis.

But surely PSU is just buying all these recruits and transfers, right?
All that said, since more guys from the HWC lose earlier in these tournaments, I prefer their roster since these early exits give them more time to train the college guys in the room

I saw that Kueter injury defaulted his last match. Anyone know what happened?

Beau's strength really showed against Henderson. It's gonna be tough to watch him vs Lee and Brooks vs Hall. I'm assuming Nick will win but the Brooks/Hall match is a toss up, Mark looks ridiculously strong.

It’s been (dare I say) fun watching it all come together for Beau these last two months.

I wish Van Ness was wrestling too.

McIntosh the first ex-PSU loss today, I think.
As Penn State fans, if we can’t/don’t enjoy these days, shame on us. We seldom in life “get it all”. But, Cael’s guys a have left me smiling more so than any team I’ve ever followed (Phillies, eagles, etc). Not only do they deliver, but they do it in style. I never have to apologize or make excuses for his wrestlers. We Are.

These semis are going to be fire! Pretty much every match is must watch. Bartlett has really improved but Nick Lee is a bad matchup for him I think. Not sure how he deals with Nicks length and nonstop leg attacks. Really interested in Ringer vs Starocci and Nolf vs O’Toole. Ringer seems to be wrestling really well again after a down year last year. Think Carter wins a pretty controlled match though. Nolf vs KOT is my dream matchup. The 2 most creative, fun, and entertaining guys in the sport. I think KOT gives him a match but Nolf has jumped levels and is now a top 5-7 guy in the world. Should have some really fun exchanges in this match

Not many big upsets. Just Beau's win and Pants' loss.

Gimme AB. More naturally sized for the weight and more dynamic on his feet
