How did Brooks only get 2 for that exposure?
Because he only exposed Ishiguro once, and that's freestyle scoring.

BTW, Ishiguro might have been pinned there, but the ref took forever to get into position, could've timed her with a sundial. (And she's not the only one, another UWW ref at 57 kg seemed completely disinterested in potential pins.) Either way, that stuffed chest wrap ended the match -- it broke Ishiguro completely. After that, Aaron had won, just a matter of what the final score would be.

I’m surprised it wasn’t a fall especially in free. They usually call it quick if it’s even semi close and that was more than close

The Armenian is definitely better than Zou. He will also attack Spencer more -- then again, so would the camera crew. To be seen if that is to Spencer's advantage.
And right on cue, the Armenian got dominated by Uzbekistan.

Here are the times I'm seeing, all Eastern.

12:22 PM: 57kg Semis - Spencer Lee (USA) VS Gulomjon Abdullaev (UZB)
12:29 PM 86kg Semis - Aaron Brooks (USA) VS Magomed Ramazanov (BUL)
12:43 PM 57kg (W) Semis - Helen Maroulis (USA) VS Tsugumi Sakurai (JPN)

So AB vs Ramazanov. Another Russian wrestling for a different country. I think 86kg has 5 of them

Spencer looks great! It's amazing how quickly he gets to a leg lace after a takedown.
Spencer rarely secures the takedown without already having the legs locked together. It's part of his finishing technique.

It's why I think Levi has huge freestyle potential -- because he is exceptional at locking in the turk during the takedown sequence.

AB's semi opponent is Bulgaria's Magomed Ramazanov. Not a lot of info about him on the UWW site:

He won the Zagreb open this year, and the Last Chance Qualifier

Spencer has Uzbek Gulomjon Abdullaev:

From Flo-

Ramazanov is a Russian transfer and was top 3 on Russia’s ladder at 86 kg for years. On top of that, Ramazanov also recently teched Chance Marsteller and defeated the above-mentioned Azamat Dauletbekov at the 2024 Zagreb Open in January.

Huge headlock by Ramazanov. Worth a rewind. Looks like his opponent hurt a rib or oblique on it. Early in the 2nd period, around 2:06:00 of Mat C.

But he did pretty much nothing otherwise. Wrestled a Greco match in freestyle. Aaron should be able to force him to change levels, and that should get the win.

That explains his lack of results. Should have guessed.

We know the quarterfinal opponents for the three U.S. wrestlers coming up

57 kg MFS – Spencer Lee (USA) vs. Bekzat Almaz Uulu (Kyrgyzstan)

86 kg MFS – Aaron Brooks (USA) vs. Hayato Ishiguro (Japan)

57 kg WFS – Helen Maroulis (USA) vs. Alina Hrushyna Akobiia (Ukraine)
