2024 Olympics Wrestling (merged)

Just one thing to note on Aaron's match, Ramazanov snapped Aaron down into that final position. Aaron wasn't just diving for the ankle on his own there. It is also rare to see European wrestlers as well conditioned as Ramazanov was. It was his conditioning that was the deciding factor at the end. That "almost" takedown by Aaron that would have made it 5-0 was the back breaker for sure. Aaron was so close to finishing there.
Yes and no. Ramazanov did snap, but AB attacked off the snap, essentially letting Ramazanov pull him into his legs. PSU guys are very good at this.

Pissed is strong, but I know what you mean. I feel the same. First Brooks, now Dake. Honestly, I think wrestling 20+ years of folk style is the difference. It's like honing different instincts.
Yeah, HS officials would def score that correctly…. I have a pretty good idea on freestyle scoring and still didn’t get how they scored Dakes match.

Takatani has looked super impressive this entire tournament plus he got a feel for Dake at worlds last year. Obviously came in with a game plan and worked it to perfection. I think Sidakov showed the world how to beat the chest wrap. Granted you have to be unbelievably talented to do it but both Sidakov and Takatani are exactly that. Still, I never in my wildest dreams thought someone would put up 20!!!! Points on Dake. Usually that’s like what he gives up in 5 tournaments.
