2024 Olympics Wrestling (merged)

They need to get back to 10 weights and then there is room for bigger weight classes.

Plus, I don't know if using the average women's weights is the right way to determine what the weight classes should be. The average woman isn't training or eating like an Olympic athlete/wrestler and if they did their average weight would be way less than what the averages are now. Hell, I am a 61-year-old man, a little over 5'10", and with back, neck and wrist issues my only exercise is walking yet I weigh less than the average 20–39-year-old woman.

Overall, Iran has had a pretty poor showing in freestyle this Olympics compared to expectation but if Zare and Amouzad can both win gold the Iranian fans should be happy. I think Sarlak missed weight, Yazdani got hurt, Emami didn’t place, and Azapira just took a tough loss to Taz after leading pretty much all match. USA hasn’t had the performance they expected either. Japan on the other hand has looked like the best team.

Zain will face Islam Dudaev (ALB) in the first repechage match. The winner of that match will face Islam Musukaev (HUN) in the bronze medal match.
Zain should handle Dudaev. Musukaev will be a great test. Not sure what I think about that match. After watching Amouzad destroy Musukaev I feel better but he is a tough matchup for Zain

I like what Kyle is doing so far. Lots of fakes, snaps and heavy hands. Wear on him this first period

Not ideal giving up that td so late in the period. 2-1 Taz at the break. Snyder hit a beautiful snatch single but his grip got broke. He needs to go back to it

Damn. That was a great match. Kyle had chances especially at the end. He was really close to a couple tds in the last min that Taz barely defended. Fun match

let’s go Kennedy!!

Her double from space is JB like. Absolutely beautiful. Was on the clock but scored a td. KGZ gets 1 back. 2-2 with a min left in the first. Big score at the end of the period. 3-2 Kennedy after 1

Kennedy looking great. Up 8-2 now. KGZ comes back though. 8-6

She does it!!! 8-6 and into the finals. What a great tournament for the US women. Could finish with 3 gold and a bronze. Pretty cool that both Elor and Blades are 20 years old. They should keep pushing each other to be great for years to come

Tazhudinov is really good.
For sure but that was a winnable match for Kyle. In the last minute he had multiple chances that he was so close to converting. After last years ass kicking I wasn’t sure what to expect in this match but I come away thinking Kyle is right there and can absolutely beat him. Seems like he almost gave him too much respect this time.

Kyle needs to get ready for another extremely tough match for bronze. Azapira beat him 6-3 earlier this year. I think Kyle does it and adds another medal to his impressive collection
