Snyder getting silver or gold would justify his coming to the NLWC. He was stagnating in Ohio, and it takes a lot of maturity and self reflection to turn away from the organization that had helped get you the first one. Heart of a champion.Snyder vs Taz semifinal should be epic. Would love to see Snyder back in the Olympic finals!!
It's not going to be easy for him. His Semi opponent beat him 10-0 (before beating Sadulaev 9-2) at worlds last year. If anyone can, Kyle can.Snyder getting silver or gold would justify his coming to the NLWC. I feel like i am reading a haiku!Absolutely, heartbreaking to
Watch for
The athletes, he’s been such a joy to
Follow for so

This has to be one of the stupidest things he's ever said. Bigger/different weight classes, sure. But a survey of the Tognetti Family isn't exactly supporting evidence.
If he loses to Taz his Bronze medal match will likely be against Azarpira who beat Snyder at the Zagreb in January 6-3.It's not going to be easy for him. His Semi opponent beat him 10-0 (before beating Sadulaev 9-2) at worlds last year. If anyone can, Kyle can.
That was horrible to watch. Not making light of it at all, but Blades' injured opponent spent a lot of injury time after the match which gives Blades some extra recuperation time for match two.
Actually, I was going to compliment Burroughs for saying something intelligent for a change. This has to be one of the stupidest things he's ever said. Bigger/different weight classes, sure. But a survey of the Tognetti Family isn't exactly supporting evidence.
If it were a survey of HS/college/professional female athletes in sports without weight classes, then sure. How do we know what it was? He didn't provide any citation.Actually, I was going to compliment Burroughs for saying something intelligent for a change.
But the point remains that Kennedy Blades is not exactly overweight and seems to have trouble making weight at the highest weight class for women. If JB's data is legit, which I have no reason to doubt, lots of women are being turned away from the sport because of an unrealistic weight class cap.
looked and didn't see a thread! Thanks for starting!
I don’t know about that , I am thinking most of those women are obese
Happy that he came to NLWC but not going to convince me he was stagnating given all the medals he won prior to comingSnyder getting silver or gold would justify his coming to the NLWC. Yes, the supporting "data" is very suspect and I wouldn't expect Burroughs to construct a sound logical argument. But when someone as fit as Kennedy Blades is having trouble making the highest weight (especially when she was at 68kg three years ago), the eye test has been failed in a big way.If it were a survey of HS/college/professional female athletes in sports without weight classes, then sure. How do we know what it was? He didn't provide any citation.
But the general population? Please. So much for the "obesity epidemic."
This is not supporting data for what should be a legitimate argument.
Not to mention, the highest weight class for girls in high school is 235 and in college it is (now) 207. So there are several weight classes of girls in high school and college that are already are too big for international wrestlingYes, the supporting "data" is very suspect and I wouldn't expect Burroughs to construct a sound logical argument. This is a far better point that Burroughs should've cited, or should cite in the near future with more time to reflect. Not to mention, the highest weight class for girls in high school is 235 and in college it is (now) 207. Yeah, this was my immediate reaction as well. If that weight "data" is from the overall population, it doesn't mean much, unless we're talking about sumo wrestling. If it were a survey of HS/college/professional female athletes in sports without weight classes, then sure. Looks like he pulled the stat from Healthline;https://www.healthline.com/health/womens-health/average-weight-for-womenYeah, this was my immediate reaction as well. If that weight "data" is from the overall population, it doesn't mean much, unless we're talking about sumo wrestling.
Amouzad stayed planted in the center while Zain darted in and out. Kept breaking engagement and was always towards the boundary. No ref will ever put Amouzad on the clock in that situation.
Can we expect a Willie tweet "I'll say it. What's going on is State college?"
Wrong. He was looking for a lifestyle change with his wife (a doctor) and now child. It wasn’t in Columbus. The combo in HV fit his needs. Success on the mat is not an indication of right or wrong. KS has a lot of other things going on off the mat. He’s an inspiration locally and elsewhere.Snyder getting silver or gold would justify his coming to the NLWC. I think this was actually yesterday, but JB called out a wrestler for doing the sock adjustment breather, and he admitted he has done that actic. Which got him a bunch of crap when he did it against Mitchell at the Trials.
Burroughs conveniently omitted the sentence directly above that table:Looks like he pulled the stat from Healthline;https://www.healthline.com/health/womens-health/average-weight-for-women
Region | Considered having overweight (%) |
---|---|
Asia | 24.2 |
Europe | 55.6 |

Now. First 65kg semi. In the next one we need the Iranian to win to pull Zain backWhat time do festivities resume?
I have. It worked pretty good this morning. Seems best to use live (although it takes them some time to add the most recent completed match).Has anyone else tried to use the "go to" function on Peacock replays?
