JB just said, "For the first time in 56 years the Men's freestyle team fails to win a gold medal."
That's crazy. Guy gets in on 2 lost points, 1 a challenge after losing yesterday, they give him the point, and now he's wins gold. Only in freestyle. My post about Takatani's dominance didn't age well.
That was also wrong. There is a graphic on the screen now saying, "No gold medals in Men's freestyle (First time since 1968)." There is no mention of the reduction in weight classes.Remember, they only have 6 chances not 10. Many wrestling at a catch weight
Perhaps one Olympics doesn't tell the tale, but perhaps the US team needs to rethink some strategy. The world seems to have passed us by.
You've got to be kidding me. We still could end up with 5 medals out of 6 weight classes.Need to move on from folk style. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but the rest of the world is doing it differently.
I believe he was saying they had the wrong photo up on the screen. They also missed the challenge in the first place.Sorry, if I am late to this. Dake was upset with the challenge, right? He didn't like the time/sequence they were looking at in the challenge.
He was quite vocal. At one point, he kept yelling, "That was from earlier."Sorry, if I am late to this. Dake was upset with the challenge, right? He didn't like the time/sequence they were looking at in the challenge.
To my ears Kyle seemed to be saying the officials were reviewing the wrong sequence, and re-reviewing something they already consulted on, which Kyle mistakenly thought was challenged.with the challenge, right? Didn't want it
No way, man, Tokyo was our best year ever, and we might end up with the same medal count this year. Sure, the colors are wrong, but we’re still steaming ahead.Perhaps one Olympics doesn't tell the tale, but perhaps the US team needs to rethink some strategy. The world seems to have passed us by.
I disagree.Need to move on from folk style. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but the rest of the world is doing it differently.
Takatani got pinned in 2:12. Jamalov took the gold.I missed the 74kg final. What happened?
might be onto some thing for our Hawkeye trained athletes. But we already know that.I disagree.
I was thinking along the lines of tweaking training and techniques. Not a complete teardown of the system down to the elementary level.
Thank you. I didn’t see that coming. Zhamalov is great but Takatani has been on another level this tournamentTakatani got pinned in 2:12. Jamalov took the gold.
We have 3 or 4 guys on the backside of their careers, maybe calling it quits after this. At least 3 from that group are going to medal. Our Heavyweight is the B team, only there because the other guy lost interest. The last guy just won bronze after dethroning the pound-for-pound #1 in the sport. No need to change anything.I disagree.

Holy cow. Geno did everything to try and lose that match. Lol
That sounds very reasonable. I haven't followed freestyle that much, especially internationally. I'll step away from the small cliff I was ready to jump off.We have 3 or 4 guys on the backside of their careers, maybe calling it quits after this. At least 3 from that group are going to medal. Russia wasn’t there and they were far and away the best team in the worldTeam USA took home 7/10 GOLD medals in Men’s Freestyle in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Yes, a great performance by Team USA in 1984, but also with a huge asterisk.Team USA took home 7/10 GOLD medals in Men’s Freestyle in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
And I don’t think any Russian transplants either.Russia wasn’t there and they were far and away the best team in the world
