Dang! I guess there's no such thing as a mandatory rest period at Worlds. Kinda crazy if you ask me but that's life. You deal with the hand you're dealt. Kudos to DT for getting it done.

It does remind me of how high school summer tournaments were sometimes run. One time I was wrestling in the third period and got called on deck on another mat. After a bit of discussion, I think they gave me 10 minutes of 'rest' before I wrestled what was I think the 7th match of the day. Every other weight class had already finished so they were pushing to get the tournament over and get home, LOL.

Uguev pushing forward a little, hand fighting on the edge. Uguev snaps, then pushes Vito out, 2-1, restart, 4-min left. Blood time Uguev. Back to action. Tying up & circling. Uguev pushing forward a little, then they're back to center. Both looking for an opening. Vito shoots a low single, no luck. Uguev coming forward, Vito near the edge, he shoots, nothing. Back near center, more tying up & circling as the period ends. 2-1 Vito

Period 2:
More "U-S-A" chants between periods. Sounds like a large group of fans in attendance. Back to action. Uguev coming forward again, Vito on the edge, then he pushes back to center. Vito with a quick elbow pass off the whistle & comes behind for another TD, 4-1. It looks like Vito hurt his finger(s). The trainer is out now & Vito looks to be in considerable pain. Uguev coming forward, Vito pushes back. Vito throws some head slaps. Uguev coming forward, shoots, gets a leg. Vito sprawls back, they scramble & then are back to neutral. A couple years after I was done wrestling a couple friends talked me into wrestling in a PA open state qualifier. I was still in pretty decent shape, still rolled around so what the hell.
Wrestled first match easy, quick win. Wrestled second match 45 minutes later against a kid still wrestling in college and somehow won 18-16. It was a non stop sprint and I was pretty well spent, but figured next match I might be OK if I got another 45 minute. Heck no, I got another kid still wrestling in college and all of a 10 minute break. Quickest 10-0 match I ever wrestled. This was back in the 1 point TD. Take me down, I would lay there. Put us back up and repeat. If he had ask me to roll over I would have, I had no legs nor any gas in the tank.

I had won that same qualifier the year before. At the time I still ran 3 miles, 3 or 4 times a week but nothing even close to wrestling cardio training. God, that 3rd match with no recovery time was just brutal.
