2025 Big Ten Tournament thread

I think we need to prepare for the very real possiblity of only having 9 guys in Philly.
We'll have 10 guys in Philly. If he is a definite no go, then he will med forfeit out. He has earned that right. If he can wrestle and not injure it any more than he has, I would expect him to give it a go as long as possible.

Paddy takes 7th by MFF over Minto. SMH.
Not getting destroyed by Mitchell in 90 seconds saved Paddy's mental well being and Ryan's strategy worked.
Of course he is now forced to tell his kids how when he was wrestling for OSU and had the opportunity to kick the ass of the top kid in the land he pussed out and quit after a second without even trying.

OBVIOUSLY not the most important thing, but Josh would’ve clinched the team title with just a regular decision.
Damn now the opening line from Hawkeye Johnson for the finals broadcast.."The Nebraskaaa cornhuskers still alive for the team title"...book it.

I think a lot of people here forget Braeden Davis' profile as a recruit.

He wasn't a S Tier kid (not available every class, but we are lucky to land multiple across 2 classes) like Luke Lilledahl, Marcus Blaze or PJ Duke
He wasn't an A Tier (Top 10) like Levi Haines, Tyler Kasak, Josh Barr (and Carter Starocci!) that we are spoiled and often see Cael transform into Multi Time Champs

He was ranked in the 40s, a kid that most had penciled in for redshirting and then even after that, who knew when he would crack the lineup. Instead he goes as a true freshman, greatly exceeds expectations in a volatile 125 class and people forget what he is. He's a tough positional grinder who will win a ton of matches just by riding. Not the most inventive scrambler which will get him in trouble at times. Despite that, he's clearly been a Top 8 kid both years, without redshirting.
remember when Davis started last yr he just didn't care and wrestled freely and as the season went on he stopped doing what he was good at and still does that he has to wrestle like that again!

I’m sure the coaching staff will keep the fans updated on how bad the injury is and the truthful outlook on competing.

In other words we aren’t going to know sh!t about how bad it is and whether he can go until noon on March 20th, so there’s no use speculating.

I think Davis has wrestled a fantastic tournament. After the loss to Shawver, I believe he has looked better than he has all season.

I think he was scouted pretty quick though, he was a blast double machine that first month.

Word is, Josh is in the warm up room working out ...

Don't worry. We'll be seeing all kinds of opinions on what should be done medically for him, even though we really don't know what the injury is.

In an open tournament his senior year he did beat a multiple time d2 national champ.

Trying not to be negative about it. It sucks on two levels of course. One is it sucks for our guy Josh and the other is it totally sucks because we are not going to know Jack shit until March 20th when he either comes out and wrestles with a brace, or forfeits out.

Really depends if it's a sprain or tear.... ankle or knee. Sprain can probably be recovered from, but not a tear. Without an MRI, it's impossible to say the extent of the damage.
