Many wrestlers on the backside want a reason to lose. You just have to help them see it. We sent a team of illuminaries to the mat on Sat.
Thank you. I didn't bother with podium pics this time, sorry. Sometimes I do, but I could only be out there for certain finals matches (184, 165, 197) and would have had to wait to be ushered in to take the same exact photo that a dozen or so other photographers were taking. I used the time to process the shots I already took and watch the rest of the finals.

Sure but LL and TK lost by a very narrow margin. BD, BB, SVN, LH, and Kerk lost to eventual champs. Disappointing sure but that’s wrestling. Imagine what the team would have been had 3-4 of those close defeats were victories?
There was no mutual respect for Carter by Keck’s sister. Road the train with his Mom and sister after the finals. Mom was very cool, Keck’s sister referred to Carter as “that asshole from Penn State”.

You have to keep in mind that both second and third place finishers lose just a single match, and third has at least one more win. Sometimes it’s just a matter of whether you get a hot guy in a quarter or semi.
Not a great look. OTOH, gotta respect family having each other’s back.
Reminds me of Starocci’s comment a couple years ago about being ready to join any brawl that might ensue when Coach Casey had words with another coach after a dual.
Regardless, I’ve been very impressed by Keck. Really enjoyed this interview after his loss to Carter.
After that, I like him even more. With that mindset, he is future coach material.
Yes, Keck is a great dude… I really wish he and Carter didn’t share the same weight class.

I have been searching with no luck to find out what the NCAA championship television ratings were. And how do they compare to last year's ratings. I just can't find the info. Can anyone help
They no longer do that. They have a quiet informal get together and hand Cael and Casey the trophy in mid July now 😂
They don't want to make it appear to be rubbing Iowa's nose in it.
They changed the date and time. They decided to do the trophy presentation at Carter during the Iowa/Penn State match during intermission this upcoming season. There was some push back from both schools but in the end better minds prevailed as they felt it could solidify to the world how great Penn State is and to help motivate Iowa to push for more than just second place
A solid piece of self development is understanding one's own self limitations. There is almost always at least one other team, lately at least two between PSU and Iowa. Before worrying about catching PSU the Hawks need to focus on things within reach. The Hawks should try to catch those other teams that are always ahead of Iowa, but behind PSU.
Catching PSU is not something Iowa is remotely close to.

That's not televised. The awards happen way too long after the event ends for TV to hang around. I think this year was probably close to a half hour after, and it's kind of an informal mess.
The individual champions photo took extra long this year b/c Hendrickson was doing some TV interview. The other nine guys, and at least nine photographers just sat around and waited for maybe ten minutes more
