And why the hell not? That's your only job on here mister! To be in-the-know.
I'm about as far removed from "the know" as one can be. Maybe Spyker can put in a good word for me in his next email to Cael.

Further guesses:
- Wreck Hall still sits the 2017 tourney (in either CO or PA)
Does summer count?Isn't Mark already enrolled? That would mean no greyshirt
Does summer count?
I don't know if I accidentally reported your post, but if I did, my apologies. Fat fingers on a "smart" phone...
If true, pretty interesting for who goes to 174 and who gets bumped from 184 (which looks relatively stronger than 184), about which it's tough to speculate, but worth pointing out that Bo had trouble with bigger guys at 86kg (which, granted, is 5 lbs heavier than 184) in FS this spring. And since our resident insider definitively stated that Mark Hall was going to redshirt, 174 becomes a real question mark because it doesn't seem like the best weight for Cenzo. Cutch has always looked small to me at 184 so maybe he'd be the answer. Geno looks like he was already cutting to hold 165 so maybe him, but I'd also think the staff would want someone there that they're reasonably sure will AA, given the likely improvement at Iowa and tOSU.
Who bothered BO at 86 kg in FS not named Zahid Valencia? Nickal would be fine at 184lbs
I remember thinking he looked particularly small against Kevin Steinhaus at the last chance Olympic trial qualifier. I think he lost to Nick Heflin there too but I didn't see that.Who bothered BO at 86 kg in FS not named Zahid Valencia? Nickal would be fine at 184lbs

Just to be clear I'm not doubting his ability. He's my favorite guy on the team to watch, and seems like an unbelievable kid to boot. I even believe that he can take out Gabe Dean. But it seems clear that it's going require a bunch of additional pounds from where he was a few months ago and some time to get used to it.That's right, also those are older guys, I think they're both out of eligibility. Also, BO will get bigger if going at that weight and not be wrestling up like he did for that event.

I asked because I don't believe summer is considered a full time semester due to the shortened time span. Don't know all the rules though. Maybe the trigger is enrollment and not full time.May depend upon whether a student/athlete is enrolled as a full-time student on scholarship.
Wrestling with the NLWC, while not enrolled, would not start the clock.

Jeremiah Johnson approved lineup. I like it.
I'm pretty certain his eligibility clock begins once the wrestling team picks up the tab ... even if it's part -time.I asked because I don't believe summer is considered a full time semester due to the shortened time span. Watch your top knot, Pilgrim.Jeremiah Johnson approved lineup. I like it.
Might try to find that movie somewhere this weekend. Love that flick. That's a great semi-smile by JJ.
Student athletes to be eligible for scholarship $$ during the summer term is 6 hours according to the NCCAs rules.

I don't know the article or rule number, I just know several D1 wrestlers who have attended summer term at different D1 schools straight out of HS and in order for them to receive their scholarship $$, they had to take a minimum of 6 hours.Which Article and Rule # is that under? Thanks
Here's how the rankings might look. I think Nickal can place as high as 2nd, and Hall could win it all.
1. Dean
2. Dudley
3. Valencia
4. Martin
5. Nickal
6. Boyd
7. Brooks
8. Miklus
9. Zavatasky
10. Nate Jackson (up from 174)
11. Abounader
12A. Dechow
12B. Weatherspoon (up from 174)
174
1. Jordan (up from 165)
2. Epperly
3. Hall
4. Realbuto
5. Valencia
6. Ramos
7. Crutchmer
8. Brunson
9. Meyer
10. Bernstein
11. Hammond
12. Schleifer
I'm a 3x tOSU grad and homer....but even I would not rank Martin higher than Nickal. Bo Nickal would probably win 8-9 out of 10 head to head. Even Martin stated Bo Nickal is the toughest opponent he ever wrestled. I dont think one Martin win (albeit on the huge stage) puts him above Nickal in any logical ranking system.
As a fan of the sport, I was really interested in a Bo J. vs. Bo N. matchup. But, a Bo Jordan vs Mark Hall 3 times next year also sounds very interesting.
I'm of course preparing for this to get shot down but....when was the last time McCutcheon had to or tried to cut? Like, anything significant? I know he has a long history, back to HS, of being above 174 but...what about a swap? I know Cael usually prefers to avoid heavy cuts, but if they're all intent on BoNicks making the jump *this* year, when he's probably walking around near 184, maybe they're also interested to see what the 174 pound class might do for Mouse's stiff back? Anyway, I'd guess that Bo 174, Mouse 184 are probably their more natural sizes right now, but if Bo's coming out publicly that he's gonna try 184 *this* year, then I wouldn't be surprised if it's a two-way swap.
Further guesses:
- Wreck Hall still sits the 2017 tourney (in either CO or PA)
- Rasheed's gonna have a tough time cracking the lineup. Can't imagine he's much bigger than Bo, so I find 197 a non-reality due to both size & strength. And unlike many this summer, I have a super hard time believing that Rasheed can touch McCutcheon in the practice room. Unless.....b/c we haven't seen it since like 10th or 11th grade I think, McCutcheon pulls down to 174.
Yours in italics, super-curiosity about a 174-pound Matt McCutcheon, and if the Queen had nuts, she's be the King,

Bo decided to move up to help his freestyle career. He decided on what's best for Bo. That doesn't mean he gets the position. He still has to beat out Cutch for the spot. That's not going to be a given. If he loses he will have the option to go to 97 if he still feels he wants to wrestle heavier guys for freestyle. If not then he will have to cut back down to 74. Which he has another problem on his hands beating Rasheed. The result of this decision is going to be very interesting and could leave a top performer on the sideline.
Rasheed 74
Nothing's in stone for us. Bo could be anywhere from 74 to 97. Cutch and Rasheed anywhere from 74 to 84. It's going to be a fight.
