I think that would be one of those "he got teched, but he looked really good anyway." 12-2, sneaks a takedown maybe, but not ready for that level of physicality.
175lb Semi-Final - #1 Adam Waters (PA) VS #29 Ryan Burton (NJ)

Tying up, then breaking, Burton trying a 2 on 1, but no luck
Waters shoots, almost gets a leg, but Burton counters & gets behind for a TD, 2-0, restart
Tying up, Waters pushing forward, trying a 2 on 1, but Burton with solid defense & they're back to center. Burton working an underhook, Waters pushing forward a little

Not remotely worried about Desmond, kid adjusts everytime I see him. Needs to get stronger though I think he outgrows 125 with excessive lifting.

Desmond teched Castillo 10-0 in the first at the U20 wtt earlier this summer so definitely a down performance. I’m still super high on him. He’s gotten so much better this past year. Going to Sem was a good decision. Great coaching and got to wrestle with Lilledahl everyday
Is he a big cutter? Seems to have been a big problem this year with the added third day weigh-in. Lots of kids missed weight altogether.

Jax absolutely destroys Mendoza this time around. 125 is definitely a hard pull for him now.
He reminds me so much of Nolf. Looks to be in trouble then...BAM!...Jax comes out on top.
Jax is so unorthodox. He just moved differently. That last td it looked like Mendoza was in good position and a split second later he’s on bottom. He is so fun to watch. I’m going to hate rooting against him but I think I’ll be ok cheering for Blaze instead
