Thanks CSauertieg....Wish Edmond had Patrick later in the day...Oh well should be a great match...LETS GO EDMOND...Gotta send him some love...He will get up for this big match....What time do the quarters start tomorrow ??

Robbie is a damn good wrestler. Scouted him for our club, for Derek Yingling, and it didn't matter. Kid is quick, has good position, and is solid technique wise. That win Edmund had over Robbie, that was NOT chopped liver, that was a great win.

Going to Blair should be huge help though, As a Susq. Twp recent(ish) grad, I can promise he's not getting great coaching and there's no local club that's all that fantastic in the area.

Hey - what part of the 'Burg are you from? I grew up in Latshmere Manor - same hood where the Ruth's live!

Heh, I lived about five minutes from there on Boas Street near Roberto's Pizza. Spent a significant amount of summers working at the poor in Latshmere

Wow that's close to home alright! Did you know Scott Black who is on the board for managing the pool? His brother Chris was one of my closest friends and also the first Susq Twp wrestler to win an NCAA title.

I've known Scott for quite a while. He's a little...off, sometimes but always very friendly.

Went to Cedar Cliff back in the day (class of '68) and remember Chris Black well, and what a great career he had at F&M.

Just did some searching, and apparently, Black passed away about 3 years ago.

Chris Black, a former standout wrestler and member of the Franklin & Marshall College Athletic Hall of Fame, died of melanoma June 19, 2014 in San Francisco. He was 63.

Born in Harrisburg, he attended Susquehanna Township High School and Franklin & Marshall College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1972. He founded and operated two importer/distributor businesses.

Black is one of only four members of F&M’s wrestling program to be honored as a two-time All-American, having secured the distinction after winning the NCAA 126-pound College Division Championships in 1971 and 1972. He captured the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association title at 126 pounds in 1972 after finishing second the previous season, and was named the most valuable wrestler at the 1972 EIWA Championships.

Inducted into the F&M Athletic Hall of Fame in 1981, Black went undefeated during his freshman season, winning all 17 matches. Over the next three seasons, he compiled a 38-2-1 record in dual matches.

Scott is also a very close friend. We've known each other for over 50 years. Yes he is a little unorthodox, but I wouldn't want him to be any different. His brother Chris died from melanoma about 18 months ago and it still hurts to think about it.

Next time see Scott, tell him that his natural superior says hi and that he must prepare to grovel! I guarantee that will really catch him off guard.

BTW, sorry to digress on this thread. It's just that this discussion is really close to home for me.

Oh man, this is serious history for me. I spent the summer of 2012 in the Bay area where Chris was last living. We got to spend a lot of time together that summer and he went downhill right afterwards. I'm so thankful for that opportunity. Here is a photo of us at the 2011 NCAA tournament. I'm the really good looking guy on the far right, and Chris is standing next to the tall guy with the Penn State shirt.

We had a lot of great adventures, but one of our biggest brags is what we did at the 1972 summer olympics in Munich. I'm getting way off the topic of this thread with this, so I'll post that story on a new thread.

Ruth and Patrick a damn near replica of their State Title match. Ruth 3-1 in SV after a slide by. I don't know whether I'm impressed or not that Edmond can win matches while having little to no offense from neutral

Mike Evans is not impressed.

Ruth next gets Ohio State commit Mattox.

Developing story in consolations ... Montoursville JR Wyatt Lutz lost in 106 round 1 to an Illinois state champ, has stormed all the way back to the blood round. Lutz finished 3rd at states last month.

Just like his brother at that age he does what he has to in order to win.....Do you realize Patrick was unbeaten and dominated everyone until he ran into Edmond ? I will say it right now IF he comes to PSU which i believe he will....He will be a 3 or 4 time National Champion.... I will bet anyone on it....He is our biggest recruit we MUST get !!!! Hope and Pray Cael is putting on a full court press....He may get beat next match but keep in mind he is going to surpass everyone once he gets to Blair....

I'm different. The way Cael has been building the program I no longer consider anyone a must get...

Robbie Patrick is a GREAT young wrestler. Ruth beating him twice is very impressive.

That's the same Patrick who last year was #1 in the state but went 1-2 DNP at Hershey, right?
Same Patrick who Ruth beat in the State Finals this year. Ruth gave him his only lost of the season in the finals....

Not that I'm the least bit worried about Seth Nevills because he's flattened every opponent he's seen the last 2 years or so, but he got pushed in the QF. Needed SV to win 8-6

Is Mattox the top seed ? See he is a Sr....
Seth Nevells with a wake up call win in OT....Kid hit a funcky roll at the end to take it to OT....Seth took him down rather easy in OT....Hoping to hear something from Seth this weekend.....Nick Nevills and Jason Nolf was in his corner....

The must gets are the ones Cael and staff decide they want. For some reason spyker NEVER seems to trust what Cael and the staff want. At least he is consistent so I will give him that.
Cael and Casey want Ruth trust me....They both know he is just scratching the surface right now !!!! Perfect fit for 174 when Hall graduates !!!!

Did any of you guys watch Brandon Kaylor in his quarterfinals match against Bayless? BK and his dad are friends of mine from WA. He is a really tough wrestler. Flo brackets say he won 19-2 TF.
