Harbaugh suspended for rest of regular season

Also, I think the late Friday afternoon decision was designed to avoid a tro
Honestly I don’t know the at that helps. Notwithstanding the weekend and holiday, federal courts have coverage for this sort of thing. Doesn’t mean the judge won’t be pissed about a weekend emergency for a football coach in a private dispute but it’ll get covered

Didn't realize the federal courts were open for this type of matter on the weekend. The few federal judges that I have had interactions with weren't exactly making strong efforts to be accommodating.

Ono bashes the timing of the big ten which disregards that Michigan took almost the entire 48 hours to respond earlier this week, setting themselves up for this exact scenario.

Gems from scUM board:

"Just leave.

Michigan will have suitors. SEC, ACC, you name it"

You named the only two, moron and go to ACC when they are treading water. We'll swap FSU or Clemson for UM. No problem

Go to SEC, please. PSU learned how a power gets treated when heading to regional conference as unwanted outsider. It would be end of UM football

It is hilarious that one of the Big2 wants to leave the conference after the conference spent decades trying to fix games for them. I find the delusional mgo board to be positively delightful.

Big Ten says no, lawyers say yes. Stay tuned!

"Like all members of the Big Ten Conference, we are entitled to a fair, deliberate, and thoughtful process to determine the full set of facts before a judgment is rendered. Today’s action by Commissioner Tony Petitti disregards the Conference's own handbook, violates basic tenets of due process, and sets an untenable precedent of assessing penalties before an investigation has been completed. We are dismayed at the Commissioner's rush to judgment when there is an ongoing NCAA investigation – one in which we are fully cooperating.”

Commissioner Petitti’s hasty action today suggests that this is more about reacting to pressure from other Conference members than a desire to apply the rules fairly and impartially. By taking this action at this hour, the Commissioner is personally inserting himself onto the sidelines and altering the level playing field that he is claiming to preserve. And, doing so on Veteran’s Day – a court holiday – to try to thwart the University from seeking immediate judicial relief is hardly a profile in impartiality. To ensure fairness in the process, we intend to seek a court order, together with Coach Harbaugh, preventing this disciplinary action from taking effect."
They can’t be serious…people get suspended during an investigation all the time in all kinds of businesses.

Good. Let them. They’re under NCAA investigation for a lot of things right now. If their first reaction to their coach needing to sit out three games while he can do everything else is to leave, then I don’t want them. Clearly don’t care about rules. There’s 100 schools that would love to join the Big Ten and most aren’t so arrogant or clear rule breakers. Buh-bye.
Didn't our fan base want to go to the ACC of all places when we were penalized?
People always overreact at first because it's emotional as you're tied to the program.
The Big Ten needs them (just like they need us) even if you don't see that. FOX, CBS and NBC will reduce their TV money without Michigan.

I

I DON'T LIKE THIS AT ALL. The Michigan team will come extra focused and motivated to win one for the Gipper.

Further, it's a rinky-dinky suspension. Either fully suspend him for the rest of the season or not at all.
Yea I am sure Michigan was coming into their first test of the season with little focus. If they blow PSU out, it won’t be because of the suspension. But I am sure lots of people will try to make it that way including Michigan players. It sounds really good but means little.

Agree. Fans love to retrofit things to make a better story.

I expect both teams to be sky high out of the gate. The team that can hold that intensity the longest will be the favorite to win.

I would pay good money to see UM in the SEC. That would be ugly for them - all of that region’s venom against Yankees focused on 1 entity week after week.

But the SEC probably doesn’t want to dilute the hotness of its female coeds by importing a bunch of beer chugging heifers from Militia country

Lol. Unclear to me how some random filing in Ann Arbor in a county court could possibly be relevant or related jurisdictionally to B10 decision.

Yupp Harbaugh will probably be on the sidelines tomorrow

Please explain. First, judge has 'conflict on interest' being UM grad. He is only a state judge in east bumble**** MI ..so he signs TRO at midnight. Does the BT have to comply? Don't they have to lift ban and tell PSU to allow Jim? What if they don't? Seems like alot stuff for a noon game.

They absolutely have to comply.
It's not a lot to happen by noon tomorrow truthfully.
