It seems that this year is bringing a lot more "confusion" to the table then most in recent memory. Here you have 133 which as the poster states, is up in the air and could go many ways. Not sure what is up with Vito but he has not looked as good as he did last season.

That being said I like him to get it all together come march and win it again. Several other weight classes could certainly be thrown into this conversation with 125 leading the way.

IOWA vs michigan should be a good battle and a good test for the HAWKS. Many possible good matches that most have going about 50-50. I will put the over under for matches won by IOWA at 6. This dual could come down to bonus!!!

His argument was Iowa wrestlers as well as any Div I wrestlers have nothing to gain by wrestling in a tournament loaded with inferior competition. Without knowing who you were addressing, you and took the low road and started insulting him and his wrestling credentials.

The man you were addressing was/is somewhat of a local legend in South Central Pa. As he stated he won a PA state championship in '69. He chose to put his wrestling aspirations on hold when he enlisted to serve his country. After sustaining an injury and earning the Purple Heart, his dreams of wrestling Div I were dashed. However, he enrolled in a Div II school where he won a Div II national title. He's a member of the PWCA as well as a member of the PA wrestling HOF. His knowledge of wrestling speaks for itself. I had the honor and privilege getting to know him doing the tournament circuit with our grandsons.

If you honestly think the Luther tournament is on the same level as the Mat-Town II tournament, then I guess there's not much more to say other than to say it speaks volumes as to your wrestling knowledge.

Lee beat Suriano head to head only after Suriano transferred to Rutgers. Transferring from Penn State to Rutgers has to be completely demoralizing. Everybody knows Penn State has the best wrestling room in the world. If Suriano had stayed at Penn State and wrestled Lee in the 2018 finals with a Penn State singlet on, it's obvious he would have won. But he didn't because he got injured and then homesick and left. I'm sure he regrets the decision to this day. After going to Rutgers, he was so good that he won the school's first ever national championship, and then another after transferring to Michigan for that sweet Cliff Keen cash. If he can win two titles, including one at Rutgers of all places, he surely would have won 4 at Penn State. That would leave only Spencer's senior year for him to win, but we all know that one ended with him counting lights while his mom blamed her eyewear for what she was witnessing.

That's why Cael didn't recruit hard for Spencer. He had just recruited a superior 125 the year before (he was beating a national champ in the room when he was in high school after all). I know you accuse us of recruiting over people sometime, but it would have been a hard sell to Spencer to recruit him under Suriano to be a room guy for 3 years before maybe getting a shot himself as a senior, so Cael let him go to an inferior program since he was good enough to get plenty of offers with less prestige.

No the discussion was the Luther Open on this thread Jan 23 and 24, not that long ago that you could not remember unless you stopped taking your meds.

In case you didn't realize, the two 149 lbers from PSU wrestled in Mat town tourney to get enough matches to qualify for RPI.

4 matches vs 1 at UMD is no brainer to any coach that needs their wrestlers to qualify.

FACT. Penn State has the best wrestling room in the country.

FACT. Wrestlers do better at Penn State relative to their pedigree than anywhere else.

FACT. Suriano was on track to win NCAAs at Penn State until he got hurt.

FACT. Suriano actually won an NCAA title at Rutgers, the first person to ever do that.

FACT. Put a guy in Penn State’s room for his whole career who has the ability to win a title at Rutgers and he is a 4-timer, no question.

FACT. Spencer’s senior season ended counting lights while his mom’s poor eyeglasses suffered the consequences.

Where does Spencer fit into those FACTS? He was a year behind Suriano, so he would have to wait 3 years until Suriano clears out the weight in order to have a chance to win, but we all know how that season ended (i.e. “one light in the rafters, two lights in the rafters”, etc.).

No the discussion was the Luther Open on this thread Jan 23 and 24, not that long ago that you could not remember unless you stopped taking your meds.

In case you didn't realize, the two 149 lbers from PSU wrestled in Mat town tourney to get enough matches to qualify for RPI.

4 matches vs 1 at UMD is no brainer to any coach that needs their wrestlers to qualify.

OK, as I said, does not matter the tournament or the reasons? Other wrestling pages gave a different reason to send the 149ers. Thing is, they had their reason(s) and I gave you a bunch of reasons why IOWA sends their guys!!!

EVERYONE can clearly see one VERY important thing here!!!! As I said, I try to have honest and good discussions and debates, but what happens??? You all have to start with the BS such as me not taking meds!!!!

UH, NO, you all may feel, or want to claim such things as "you have the best wrestling room" or "wrestlers do better" but it is not the truth. ESPECIALLY when looking at 125!!!

You also have MORE wrestlers do LESS then what they should, then I would guess the next 4-5 TEAMS COMBINED!!! Magically, they all do not count.

LEE POUNDED Suriano in the NCAA finals his TRUE Freshman year!!! He did this COMING OFF MAJOR KNEE SURGERY!!!! Somehow though he would be behind the guy!?!??! Suriano then MOVED UP because he knew he could not beat him!!!

SO, you being a psu guy. I will tell you what. YOU go back to Suriano and get me EVERY lite weight recruit they brought in from that time till now. List them here and I will PROVE my point with JUST 1 WEIGHT CLASS!!!!

I would take the over also. Not 100% confidant on who will actually wrestle for Ohio st.? I believe that psu wins 8. I should have put 8 as the number if I am thinking like a bookie because that is what I believe psu wins and ties go to the house!

I think I have IOWA correct if I am the bookie but I am counting on the HAWKS best line up which I believe will go.

Yes, you are correct except when you want to stack it more in your favor. Back in the day(not sure how old you are?) some kids in HS would make some side money selling NFL betting tickets. The odds were almost always whole numbers with a "push"(tie) going to the "house"(bookie).

7.5 would be a good number and I am still leaning your way. If it was 8 and I win or a push with NO winners. I would take a small bet.

Well again you all like to discount many things. Injuries are a B1G and unfortunate part of the sport. Then you had the F-in covid year that really screwed IOWA. EVEN that said, KemDAWG was a several time NCAA AA and finalist,

The BULL was a FOUR time B1G Champion!!! Also a Multi AA, LEE was a 3Xer TWOOOO time HODGE!!! Warner Multi AA and Finilist, Cass Multi AA, DeSanto Multi AA, Murin AA.

Most if not ALL hit or exceeded expectations! Also EVERY one delt with injuries. Look at DeSanto would have NEVER reached the level he did in your room! Marin , more then likely would not have either! These guys also helped win a team title AND won the biggest Tournament of the year going away the following year!!!

NOW if you will just list the dozen or so 125s I will PROVE my point so easy your head will spin off!!!!
