Hearing Nick S. is making good Progress. That is a great sign for him and PSU. Others better look

Lol.....Wanna bet i am right on ? Nick is good to go....Say a prayer for his ankle and he will be more ready then he is now....Power of healing....O yea.

We all know that Suriano will at least step on the mat. The questions are [1] how healthy is the ankle? and [2] how long he will be able to go?

So define "good to go". I suspect you can't, at least not any better than in the paragraph above.

"WE"all know? Right up until now, you've been the foremost proponent that "we" did NOT all know he would take the mat?

Nice move though, getting up on the move, early in the game, to fix it! Smart!

Not quite. I've been saying no one knows how healthy Suriano will be. Particularly in response to those who made unsubstantiated statements about the severity of his injury.

Also, to state the obvious, "stepping on the mat" doesn't necessarily mean he can wrestle anywhere close to his full capability, or even make it through a match.

Minnesota did not wrestle and default. Minnesota forfeited, and because of that you need to take the mat.

And the seeding committee will not "bump him down five seeds". At worst, he will go from the 2, to the 3 seed.
Not knowing what will happen Saturday...IF Nick does not complete his first bout, heaven-only-knows what the seeding committee will do with that. I'm not even willing to take a guess.

How about a glass half full mindset/approach?......I'm gonna say Nick will wrestle the entirety of B1G's so that he gets to "dance" with Gilman again. (no inside information)

Flowrestling just cast this situation in pretty negative light, talking as if it is possible he might not even make the Nationals. However this shakes out I see the entire team wrestling harder in the face of adversity. ( I know they always wrestle hard. And the best can always dig deeper)

Do what Mn did. Default after a second. He should be hammered at NCAAS for seeding though...but, then you're gonna hurt others in the brackets. Oh well, the crappy seeding over the years makes it even out. If he doesn't wrestle at Tens, bump him down to a seven seed. -5 seed deduction for ID.

Why in the world would you penalize a wrestler so severely for having a very untimely injury? Over the course of the entire season, it became pretty clear that he is the second best wrestler at his weight. I don't know what criteria the NCAA seeding committee focuses on, but I could understand at most a 1 or 2-spot bump down. Even that would be an acknowledgement that he might not be at 100% and therefore not truly the 2nd best 125 during the tournament, and not as some sort of penalty.

Shocking.

As Cowbell said, he's taking the mat, and will either wrestle, or immediately default, and qualify for Nationals, with 10 additional days to heal. Flo, and everyone else, will have to deal with it.

Flo knows no more than any of us.. They heard Cael say they are optimistic etc.. Doesn't sound like they know any insider info.. I guess we shall see this weekend how he is doing.. I am shocked that no one has reported seeing him on campus since that original sighting on crutches.. ..

...it is somewhat odd that no one has been able to give an idea of whether Nick is walking with or without the boot, whether he is able to practice or not or even if he is noticeably limping from his injury. But I think that's good.
I'm willing to just wait 'n see what happens on Saturday... like Cael suggested.

and/or do we know exactly when he received his injury and exactly what is his injury (high ankle sprain, etc.)

Was up to 100%, did a Bo Nickal flip, and sprained his right ankle. Back to square one.

I don't think the specific nature of the injury will become public knowledge. If it does. . .someone's in big trouble!!
I'm kinda of shock that with today's social media that there has not been more photos/description on Suriano situation. I had a friend who was student trainer of 1981 football team. Through him I knee a lot about that team that the general public did not know. I will not elaborate in this forum. With that being said , I am shocked no one with indirect contact with the team has not posted something that has leaked information except Spyker, who one might question the validity of his statements. Sometimes I sense Spyker throws it against the wall to see what sticks. Hopefully Suriano can come back. I just think it's harder for the lite weight guys to be hindered by ankle injuries. So much of their success translates to how they move on their feet.

Nolf shaved his leg and painted his toe nails to make him feel pretty! I hear it's working, full recovery by Nationals.

Nick is being shuttled around campus in one of these, but with curtains all around.

The team has hired random people from the School of Librarians, who are sure not to recognize him, to pull the thing. They pull up to the least conspicuous door of the building that his classes are in, and he gets out and he uses crutches, or doesn't, to get into his classroom.
