In Iowa desperation news…

Wow, kid twist. A little over the top. I’d rather ride with our guys and coaching. If Sealy ever needs to beat him, Cael and team will have a plan. Have some faith.
Not over the top for the Kid, the funny thing is… he’s serious.

If what Pat says is true (and social media signs seem to support it and I imagine he has solid Ferrari sources) ....

Brands basically courted the Ferraris without talking to a single member of the team (hence why Spencer was confused and Chittum is angry) in hopes of landing AJ's points next year and Angelo's future talent. At the time, they thought AJ was going to be clear by now but instead he is headed for trial in the Fall. Meanwhile, the way they handled it has basically led Chittum to give them a "it's me or them" ultimatum so they're obviously keeping Chittum but through doing that, they are going to cost them any chance of landing the most talented and well behaved Ferrari brother because they basically changed their mind on the middle brother?

So basically, handled in the worst possible way?

From what little I know it's a total shit show. A what NOT to do in recruiting and building a winning culture.

Giving in to Chittum says the inmates run the asylum. And so does keeping the Ferrari circus.

It's a terrible culture message for potential recruits. And it says they needed less than 2 semesters to piss away Kemerer’s 37 years.

  • From Gobblin via GIA Chittum post:

"I feel very, very sorry for Cody Chittum and pray that one day he’ll get to make decisions for himself"

It took everything in my power not to post "I hope someday Spencer gets to make some decisions for himself"

If you want to torque them up, mention Iowa isn't a shoe in for 2nd next season because plenty of teams seem pretty close potential wise.

They get mad. To make it better over explain to them that concept mentioning multiple times you personally don't know how things will turn out so you're waiting to see what happens. Rinse and repeat.

Where does Chittum fit in Penn State’s lineup? I imagine with some strategic red shirts Cael could make it work!
Please no... PSU does not need any drama. Let the kid go back to Minnesota. It is comical what is happening over in Hawkeye land. The Lee era is definitely over and they seem to be completely rudderless.

Sounds like at least one wrestler is caught up in the gambling investigation, and would lose eligibility if confirmed. Let the speculation begin as to how much worse their lineup will look as the name(s) come out.

TBH this could happen anywhere, it’s too bad.

I'm no gambler, but I did do those apps for 2 Super Bowls and had some fun placing random $1 bets. Along with my initial $5 bet on the Bucs to win at 55:1 odds a few years back I did ok, but 24/7 access to this stuff can be dangerous.

A buddy of mine coached one of the Ferrari’s. This is only the beginning, which is why I keep hoping all 3 end up at Iowa. The youngest one isn’t an issue though, he’s be wise to separate himself from the others.

I am no prude, but what are the actual allegations?

The NCAA is no bastion for morality, and I hope it's not as innocuous as it could be given the NCAAs apparently broad policy. I think once again the NCAA might be a decade behind reality.

Unless the kids are betting on collegiate sports involving their own university teams, this sounds like overreach. Heck I managed March madness brackets dating back to highschool, who isn't playing fantasy football leagues for money these days, and real gambling is no further than your smart phone.

This info has me concerned - certainly some elements could occur anywhere including PSU.

"NCAA rules prohibit athletes, coaches and staff from betting on amateur, collegiate and professional sports in which the NCAA conducts a championship. For example, athletes cannot bet on NFL games even if state laws would legally allow them to do so if they weren't competing under NCAA rules."

Athletes can not bet on NFL games, really? Like it or not, this is now a pervasive part of American culture.
