157 - #4 Tyler Kasak VS James Conway
Period 1:
Circling, Kasak coming forward a little, tries a throw by, but no luck. Conway is a pretty big kid. Tying up & pushing, then Kasak shoots, but nothing. Circling & faking, 2-min left. Kasak is pushing forward, Conway is near the edge, then he circles back to center. More circling, Kasak comes forward again & drops in on a leg on the edge. Kasak keeps working & trips Conway to the mat for the TD, 3-0, then they go out of bounds, restart. Conway is down, 43-sec left. Conway sits out, but Kasak sucks him back. Conway gets to his feet, but Kasak drives him out of bounds, restart, 27-sec left. Conway is still down, Kasak has 19-sec of RT. Conway sits out, but Kasak bulls forward. Conway gets to his feet & Kasak takes him out of bounds, but gets a stalling call, restart. Conway is still down, 12-sec left. Conway sits out & Kasak tries to suck him back down, but can't hold him long enough for swipes & the period ends. 3-0 Kasak
Period 2:
Kasak takes down, gets to his feet & gets the escape, 4-0. Kasak has 39-sec of riding time. Circling & tying up in the center, then breaking apart. Kasak pushes forward, then they spin back to center. Kasak shoots, gets a leg & then the other one for another TD, 7-0, out of bounds, restart, 48-sec left. Conway is down, then Kasak goes neutral start, escape point Conway, 7-1. Circling, Kasak is driving forward, shoots & gets a leg on the edge. He keeps driving until he gets the other leg & finishes off the TD, 10-1. Kasak cuts Conway with a few seconds left. Oops! I think Kasak thought they were out of bounds. 10-1 Kasak

Conway takes down, caution Kasak, restart. Conway gets to his feet, then gets the escape, 10-2. Circling in the center, Kasak +1:17 RT. Kasak shoots, but no luck, 1:20 left. Kasak comes forward, shoots, but no luck, and then again. Tyler is a brute! Kasak bullying forward again & looking for an opening, 34-sec left. Conway shoots, but Kasak kicks free. Conway with a flurry at the end, but time expires. Kasak adds a RT point for the 11-3 major decision.

Back to center circling. Levi gets poked in the eye. He's okay & we're back to action. Tying up & circling. Levi working the head, and then they break. Levi with some fakes. Levi working a 2 on 1, snaps hard, but can't finish. Back to center circling & tying up. Levi shoots, gets a leg. O'Toole sprawls & is locked through the crotch & it's a stalemate, restart, 54-sec left. Circling & tying up, O'Toole with a half shot, then they're back to circling, 30-sec left. O'Toole reaches for an ankle, but doesn't get there. More circling & tying up & hand fighting as the period expires. 0-0

Missouri 165 got injured in an earlier match today
The Missouri wrestler at 165 lb was injured in his previous bout of the day. There's no conspiracy here.
I thought Levi had him with the two boots.

Close match that could go either way I think. Levi wasn't able to finish when in deep. They both are dangerous and went after it.
Get him in March. When it really counts.
Fun to watch but KOT did squat for most of that match. Still, he got the W. See you at Nationals for round 2.
Not sure how you control with your head in the mat
So if someone is riding on top and has two legs in and an arm, will they now consider that an escape? I don't see how that's not a TD.
I wonder if that's discussed more. I didn't think it was a TD that KOT had, but are boots in enough when control was not really clear?

Head, hands, and both knees on mat, opponent on top with boots in. That's control.
I think it was the right call. Barely. Levi can ride him though. Just has to be ready for that counter off the whistle on top.
