Junior worlds

Braxton Amos up vs Polatici (TUR).
  • Three quick step outs in under a minute, Amos has no trouble getting to his legs, but hasn't yet converted.
  • Another step out point, which should've been two, and it's 4-0.
  • Yet another step out point, this one resulting in a caution against Pollatci. 5-0
  • Amos with a body lock and looks go to big, but he loses the exchange and it's 5-4 at the break.
  • Polatci hasn't done a thing, is lucky to be in this match. Amos not as active with under two minutes left.
  • Amos gets to a leg, Polatci looking to turn, but no points.
  • Again in the body lock position, this time Amos goes HUGE for 5. 10-4, :30 left.
  • And that's how it'll end. Wrestlers hug. Really entertaining match. Amos is a junior world champ.

That was a mental lapse from Amos. Wanted to get the big score, but didn't have to get in that position.

Lol, then he eventually bites on the same body lock, and gets a 5. gave me a Cenzo/Marnielli flashback or two....

Congrats to the big man from WV. If he stays in wrestling he could be a force for our FS world team in five or six years. Or since Greco may be dead then maybe beach wrestling lol.
He’ll be very good in folk style but I don’t know how his top game at all. I think folk is the weakest of the three styles for him. If his legs weren’t so damn big he’d be an easy 197 lol but he’ll have no prob getting there. AJ should have a bigger problem then Amos. The other thing about Amos is he lets guys get to his legs A LOT. Rarely sprawls. It’ll be interesting but I’m super excited to watch him. 197lb is stacked. Deepest weight in college wrestling. Maybe time to make a 215 class.

She is competing...in women's freestyle. 72kgs.
Thanks. I didn’t see her name on the women’s list. Are we talking Kennedy? Or her younger sister? Easily one of the best in the world. Wrestled stock as well as just about anyone but she’s stuck behind a stud. Once, if, she gets all muscles up she could be an insane HW

Does anyone know why Adonian doesn’t go Greco? Does he wrestle greco? Just curious because he’s always looking to throw guys on their heads lol.

Both are on the team, both wrestling Thursday. Korina is at 62kg, Kennedy at 72kg.

Also keep and eye out for Amit Elor at 68kg tomorrow. She's on track to win medals at the senior level pretty soon.
Amit already won Cadets and she's definitely a favorite for juniors.

Don't overlook heavyweight. With Gable possibly gone, a healthy/rejuvenated Kerk could win the whole thing.
Definitely will be an important one! Like I said before, I won't put Kerk over Cass just because of Workout videos (considering we joke about how Ohio State always looks great in those then can't get out from bottom) ... I expect he'll be much better next year obviously.

Main reason I say 149/197 because those weights are very volatile. I think your analysis of 149 a few months back was spot on. There can be a scenario where Murin gets 3rd and PSU guy DNPs ... and a scenario where PSU gets 3rd and Murin DNPs. That's literally a 25 point swing depending on who comes out on top. Similarly, 197 is looking volatile with Amos/Dean/Darmstadt entering the chat but Rocky Elam looking very good as well. Warner has proven himself as just a guy that wins (whether exciting or not) For heavy, Cass is going to place high and score a ton of bonus regardless.

Shall be fun to follow it all!

My money is on Daniel Greg Kerkvliet. Especially if he grows his hair out.
