From its inception, the founders of this game ran it to be above board, with as much integrity as possible. Since I took it over, I have tried my best to live up to the standards they set. Usually, that's pretty easy, as not many situations come up that test the bounds of being fair and forthright.

Then, along comes Ohio State. One KYPSW player, at 7:55 Friday night, opened his picks message, because he realized that he had written, "Barraclough DEC any PSU," instead of "Barraclough DEC any OSU." After realizing what he had done, he texted me immediately to tell me. Thus started a weekend of figuring out the right thing to do.

Fortunately, this game has explicit rules for most things that come up, and it also has precedents for most things for which there are not rules. In the past, one or two guys didn't get their picks in until 20 or 30 minutes after the start of a dual. In those cases, to the best of my ability, I figured out which matches they should score zero in, and they received zero points up to that point of the dual.

That precedent is the closest I can come to a situation like this. I know Hockeygod didn't change anything other than the PSU to OSU in that message, and I 100% don't expect anyone that plays to cheat this game, but to remain consistent to the precedent, I have to take away Hockeygod's points through 149.

Let this be a lesson to everyone...Don't put your picks in late, and don't open your picks after the start of the match.

Everybody got two at 133, and, unfortunately, 157-174 are all thrown out, because the wrong guy went, and the picks for each weight weren't unanimous.

@HOCKEYGOD11 can have my points for 125-149. That dude is too good to be riding the pine for this team.

Yeah I guess I’m done for the year. Oh well. Should have just left it as Bear claw beating psu. Lol.

1. Yes, you should have left it as Barraclough DEC PSU. I would have known what you meant.
2. Done for the year? With only one dual left, chances were pretty slim that you'd have jumped to the podium for the dual meet season. But, with the way this thing is structured, you can still win B1G, NCAA and the season.

Don't quit, it's not your style. We have regular season and final standings, and frankly speaking, since the inception in 2013 of this fun-only-no-prize-just-bragging-rights competition, the big points have always come from the post-season tournaments. You're still very much in it.

Ha. I didn't even start putting picks in until the New Year, and I'm the defending champ, but I'm going to keep playing. I'll try to at least defend my nationals win from last year.

So if I got 157, 165, and 174 exactly right by name (post 519)
I am out of luck?

I have no idea if you are out of luck or not. What you are definitely out of is points at those weights.

I ran into, or know, multiple players of this game who were at the match on Friday. At the time you posted your updated picks, presumably after listening to Byers or seeing weigh-ins somewhere, those game players were in the BJC catching up with old friends, watching the wrestlers warm up, or even pulling into the parking lot. I was in my seat, where I had hideous cell phone coverage.

I do not have the expectation that people playing this game live their lives planning around putting updated picks in after the wrestlers are known. It would simply not be a reasonable expectation.

@pawrestlersintn - A thought for future years:

Have you ever considered making Post #2 of the annual thread the standard placeholder for year-to-date (YTD) regular season score updates?

Having them close to the rules should make the YTD results easier to find, and it would automatically include the last edited info.

That's a good idea. If you think of it, remind me at the start of next season.

I hope everything is ok @pawrestlersintn.

I'm a little concerned since the Rider notes were published but I haven't found them posted here. I'm including them for your convenience.
