Looks like Pitt brought all of their faithful fans to the Sun Bowl.

And was playing their backup qb. Ucla had their starter (5th year senior)
Right--it's a scrimmage. I don't understand why this concept is difficult.
Those weren't the teams in the regular season nor did winning or losing matter.

It’s not. It’s just laughable how dedicated to being a turd in the punch bowl you are. You’d win the lottery and bitch about the taxes.

You’re our resident Eeyore.

It’s not a scrimmage. A Scrimmage doesn’t use a clock or have a fulll complement of officials. And usually doesn’t have full special teams involvement.

And watching the fourth quarter and the post game reactions by players on both teams I would say it mattered a lot to them.

Just because it doesn’t matter to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter. You simply aren’t that important.

How isn't it? The bowls games exist simply because people are dumb enough to spend money on them and watch them. Look at this board and how little bowls games are discussed. This only came up to bash Pitt went ended great

It doesn't matter to anyone. It's playing for pride and a spot on a roster next year. That's it. Pretend otherwise but I don't believe most people here, including you, are truly dumb enough to think these games matter. Wait to the playoff expands to 12.

If you think our game doesn’t matter to anyone other than players you are far beyond my level of dumbness.

Our game doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things to anyone. You just won't let go of the past. When there's a playoff these games are just about getting the kids swag and seeing who dumb enough to pay to go.

Or the the thousands that go…. Or the hundreds of family…..or the thousands of
members of band, staff, admin, employees. Or the millions of alumni or their families. Or the tens of millions of Big team fan bases that will be rooting either for us or against us. Or the tens of millions of college football fans watching across the country. And some around the globe.

None of that matters. LANDOCOMMANDO HAS SPOKEN! So it has been said, so it must be……

See the Blue & White game for the first part. Thousands go, hundreds of family, members of the band, etc. Countless watch on TV.
You think tens of millions of Big Ten fans not including Penn Staters are watching the Rose bowl? There might by 16M total watching.
If we win who do we play after it? if we lose what changes? Again, people are stuck in the past.

I’m the grand scheme of things, what does it matter if we make the playoffs? Or win a natty? If we win….what changes? If we lose …..what changes?

Does it pay your bills? Nope
Does it get you a week off work? Nope
Does it cure you or a family member of any illness? Nope
Does it cancel your debts? Nope
Does it fix your car? Nope
Does it gives us world peace? Nope
Solve world hunger? Nope

So what does any of it matter?

Because it matters in the grand scheme of college football unlike the bowl games. Simple.

Go torment the Pitt fans. You would fit right in. Just like the rest of the miserable assholes over there.
How is this miserable? There's two great games on tomorrow. Soon we'll have 11 instead of 3. Hopefully that keeps growing. I'm not miserable at all.

It's fine to say these games don't matter. Truthfully they don't. But it's wrong to assume that the results aren't meaningful. Seeing the bottom of the big ten perform well and the pac 12 underperform means something.

Of these games don’t count, none do. Is a B1G championship better than a rose bowl championship? Is losing in the first round of the playoff better than a bowl championship? Just another trophy and stories to tell in your glory days. Honestly, other than the national champion, they are just made up championships to make money.

To who though? We all know that when the playoff expands they're going to look to see how conferences do in the playoffs when they're considering conference strength. Expanding to 12 Penn State often is going to be in that 8-16 range without winning the Big Ten so perception will matter but that is in the hands of Ohio State and Michigan not Michigan and Minnesota

Bowl games have been great. Teams playing hard and lots of great games.
Most of the bowl games this week have been great entertainment and fun to watch despite their diminishment by the playoffs. I’ve been impressed with the passion with which most of these teams have played in these games. Also, at least for the games this week with big name schools playing, the attendance has been really good.

To anyone trying to figure out which conference is better, etc. Watching conference results in bowl games certainly gives you an idea who is better.

But it doesn't. Look at how many players opt out or are in the portal. It used to be that bowl games could build momentum toward next year and they were the same teams that played all year. That's not true any more. Arkansas was down, what, 30 players or something like that. I know ND won anyway but Michael Mayer not playing changes that entire team. The SEC could lose every bowl game and the Big Ten win every bowl game but if Georgia beat Ohio State then Michigan all we'll hear about is how great the SEC is.

What will you say if OSU or UM wins??

Nah, TCU and Ohio State will be lucky to be within 2 touchdowns. Anyway, it’s only entertainment. They aren’t curing cancer. Plus the best players are just trying out for the NFL anyway. The games that matter are on Sunday. Am I doing the schtick correctly?

There's no schtick. The fact people think this is about anything other than the bowls no longer having meaning is pathetic.
