Looks like Pitt brought all of their faithful fans to the Sun Bowl.

So you don't go to the politics board? Caught you, Pitiot.
I haven't been on the test board in probably months
And that's still this site which isn't what you were claiming initially.
Again, the Pitiot thing is literally the dumbest thing I've seen here and that's an impressive feat

Enough of your bs.

So, yes, they celebrate being the best conference as they should. It's something normal people take pride in because you want to be the best of the best. Meanwhile our fanbase wants to join the ACC because they don't believe we can be good enough
Nope. Nobody who is successful celebrates what the conference does. They celebrate what they do. There is no conference that is independent of the individual members. The SEC has never won a national championship. Bama, LSU, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia have won national championships.

PSU has never benefitted from another member of the Big Ten being successful. Not sure why you’re confused on this point. In fact, being in the Big Ten has prevented PSU from playing for a national championship (1994).

So you missed Saban's interview during the SEC Title Game about why they should be in this year? Yes conferences do win titles and, yes, Penn State needs a strong Big Ten as the playoff expands to 12 so we get in. The Big Ten didn't "prevent us". An antiquated bowl system, that most here still pretend is a good thing, prevented us. If there would have been a playoff we'd have been fine.

The Big Ten’s attachment to tradition, and the Rose Bowl, has been the biggest impediment to a playoff. Thankfully, this year, it was finally determined to put tradition aside and agree to a 12 team playoff (I think 16 is a better number). It was also Jim Delaney who told Joel Klatt, on the stage in Indy after PSU won the 2016 Big Ten title, that conference champions shouldn’t automatically get into the playoff and imply PSU didn’t deserve a chance.

If PSU had been independent in 1994 then a matchup with Nebraska would have been possible. Would PSU have won? I don’t know, but it was the Big Ten’s tie in with the Rose Bowl that robbed college football fans of a classic matchup.

I just got done looking at all the national champions over the last 100 years. Never came across a team called “SEC”

Conference champs shouldn't when there's only 4.

The benefits of the Big Ten have far exceeded any negatives as you know

Every team that won who was in a conference also wins for that conference as you know.

Nope. SEC has never been listed as a champion on a trophy.

I don’t disagree that the Big Ten has been a net benefit to PSU. That doesn’t negate the fact that the Big Ten has been a drag on modernizing the game. PSU fans who insist that we should be independent or in the ACC are wrong.

If conferences mattered, then a conference championship should be a prerequisite for a “playoff”. As it stands, that’s not the case. Hence, conferences mean nothing.

You realize that, for Penn State to make the playoffs when it expands to 12, that's infinitely easier if the Big Ten is respected. Most conferences will get 1...some will get 2...we need thr Big Ten to get 3 or 4. That doesn't happen with the conference being strong.

It is my understanding that there are auto qualifiers in the new playoff. The 6 highest ranked conference champions get into the post season. If PSU wins the Big Ten then they’re in. If they don’t win the Big Ten, and they don’t get in, that’s fine. It was understood what needed to be done before the season.

You guys need to put HandonhisCommando on ignore. Don't give the load the attention he wants.

So you'd rather be left out and not have a chance to win a title than have a strong Big Ten? Great plan

TCU and Baylor were left out because Ohio State was a better team and had more brand recognition. It wasn’t because they were in the Big XII and OSU was in the BIG.
Also because tOSU won a championship game and those teams didn’t play one. The committee was trying to emphasize the importance of winning that extra tough game.

Again, a strong Big Ten isn’t a good thing. A weak one is easier to win and gives PSU a better chance to get in. Not hard to figure out.
Again this is a loser mentality. You want to be the best of the weakest teams then get destroyed in the playoffs. An elite Ohio State Michigan and USC soon is good for us just as an elite Penn State is good for them.

UCLA pathetic performance against the ACC Coastal 3-star ragamuffins should be enough for the Big 10 to reconsider their bid. Why would the Big 10 want to invite a team that doesn't prepare for a bowl game and then gives a half-hearted effort? Stanford or Oregon would be a better choice than UCLA.
