Looks like Pitt brought all of their faithful fans to the Sun Bowl.

To who though? We all know that when the playoff expands they're going to look to see how conferences do in the playoffs when they're considering conference strength. Expanding to 12 Penn State often is going to be in that 8-16 range without winning the Big Ten so perception will matter but that is in the hands of Ohio State and Michigan not Michigan and Minnesota
Can you name one P5 team that’s been left out of the current invitational due to their conference affiliation?

TCU and Baylor...and as it expands conference "prestige" matters more and more because they will take a 3 loss team over a 2 loss team.

How is this miserable? There's two great games on tomorrow. Soon we'll have 11 instead of 3. Hopefully that keeps growing. I'm not miserable at all.

I would imagine that most posters here favor an expanded playoff, especially since it would help us.

The point of everything but the playoff games being meaningless is what I and most don't agree with.

Yeah there are too many bowls, and 5/6 win teams are mediocre. But the kids playing the Bahamas Bowl likely had a great time and played a good game. The Liberty Bowl was entertaining until I stupidly switched channels and missed the end of regulation. OT was great, and the Hogs Coach clearly cared. UNC vs Oregon was exciting.

And like Bison said, UMd needed a win to show some sort of tangible growth. Sure NC State isn't the same team without Devin Leary, but the Terps won a close game against a former ACC rival and they should feel good.

Nobody needs a Quick Lane Bowl champion ring. And going to this Rose Bowl feels very hollow compared to our other times. I have family in LA and didn't even consider the trip.

Someone posted an article about the NCAA guy who is in charge of bowls. It seems like some will die as early as next year. Most other games are just live TV football viewing slots while many are on vacation or in Holiday mode. There is too much $ for non- playoff bowls to disappear. Why do you think ESPN had cornered the market?

I'm looking forward to watching the KState qb from Downingtown play the Tide. I've got 5 former students currently attending Bama. Some well intententioned text trash talk will start around 11:45. It will be fun....

That's why we watch.

Happy for Pitt. I always root for teams from PA, unless they happen to be playing THE team from PA or service academies.

And it's fine watching the games. To me, it's like watching a preseason NFL game or the Blue/White game. It's still football. The outcome just truly doesn't matter. These games are rewards for a great/good/mediocre season.

I'm not saying anyone shouldn't watch the Rose Bowl (I do think paying money to attend is insane though unless you live close) but I'm saying the outcome doesn't matter. Only 3 games matter because the postseason should be about a title not swag.

Only 3 games matter? Will those three games completely alter how you evaluate the B10 and the sec?
About what? If both win tomorrow it completely alters how the Big Ten is looked at.
If OSU and UM win does that !ake the b10 better than the sec?

TCU and Baylor were left out because Ohio State was a better team and had more brand recognition. It wasn’t because they were in the Big XII and OSU was in the BIG.

Better? No probably not. Closer? Yupp.

3 games remaining matter.

Bama boat racing K State who beat TCU.

Expanded playoff badly needed...but will ultimately favor the Top 5.

Tide could beat anyone the way they are playing today....

Sez the head Pitiot.
You say that as though people that root for Pitt are less than you. It goes to the holier than thou part of this fan base that I hate being apart of. That and idiots that think because you actually understand Penn State isn't the center of the FBS you aren't a Penn State fan.
We have a great playoff game going on right now, you know a game that matters, and you're bashing Pitt who has been irrelevant for decades. Why? Oh that's right--you lack the intelligence to debate.

Back to the panturdliar, fake.🤡

Haha ok. I suppose that TCU or Baylor would be selected over Notre Dame if their records were the same? Conferences don’t matter. Never really have. Teams win games and championships. I never saw a conference end up #1 at the end of the season. People that think otherwise are delusional.

Does the SEC celebrate their conference dominance or no?

The SEC teams that win do not. You think Smart or Saban give a damn what the rest of the SEC does or doesn’t do? The people chanting SEC-SEC-SEC are fans of teams whose only accomplishment is being located south of the Mason-Dixon.

So, yes, they celebrate being the best conference as they should. It's something normal people take pride in because you want to be the best of the best. Meanwhile our fanbase wants to join the ACC because they don't believe we can be good enough
