If Bartlett lost to Verk in a wrestle off, I think that just means he's too small for the weight and wouldn't really do any better. That's why I was always skeptical. People expecting a true freshman 141 to bump to 149 and be an AA because he wrestled Bryce Meredith close was never very realistic imo. Bright future though once he gets in the lineup at his ideal weight.

Joe Lee wins it 8-7 with riding time. Pure aggression to his detriment at times and struggled on bottom, but loved the offensive output.

Joe wants to wrestle balls out like Nolf, but doesn't have the skill set to pull it off ... at least not yet.

In the long run, once he fine tunes a few things, his aggressive style should pay dividends.

Sloppier than I'd like to see by Joe but a good effort. He is not afraid to wrestle and not afraid to get after it. I remember Nick being sloppy his first year starting as well. Good win for Joe.

I seem to vaguely recall Ed Ruth could do it and maybe Bo Nickal from time to time. Also seem to think Matt Brown might have done it once or twice at 174. Could be wrong though.

I believe Bartlett believes he can do it as well, not much other reason for him to remain at 141. Begs the question - what about next year? One of those boys needs to gain 8 lbs. i don't see Nick being able to do that. For the good of the team I hope Beau tries to go 149 this year for starters.
