My gawd is this Iowa-Mich match a snoozer

Well, the feature bout (285) is next up. We'll see how that goes. So far, some real good action.

Most notable event so far is Spencer Lee getting only 2 near-points and "only" a regular decision. The 141 lb match was entertaining and Iowa dominated at 165 and 174 as expected. Other than that, most every match has been a snoozer, especially 149, 184, and 197.

Edit - 285 match had more action than most of the other matches combined. Parris by fall in the 2nd period.

HR report, saying cass hurt knee or has the corona virus or both. Leg may need amputated but will be ready for bigs.

I rewound my DVR and it definitely did look like Cass hurt his wrapped knee early on in the sequence where he was pinned. You could see there was a lot of pressure being placed on the knee as he tried defending the takedown. Then he suddenly bellied out and you could see him wincing. You could also see him limping off the mat after the fall. Hopefully he didn't suffer a significant injury.

Man, the HWT class is just a different animal these days! I know Iowa is supposed to be the “enemy” but I’ve really enjoyed watching Cass this season - he’s a stud! To see him pinned by someone other than Cassar or Gable is pretty crazy to me!

Snacks has had some nice scrambles this year too that I haven’t seen with bigger HWTs in the past...

The whole weight class just seems more exciting altogether than years past! Pretty cool to see the big boys wrestle an exciting style on a more consistent basis. Love it!!!

I told my sons beforehand that they would see heavyweights wrestling like 125 lbers. They were not disappointed.

It doesnt matter much because there doesn't seem to be a 125 up to the task of keeping things close but I think Spencer still gasses in the 3rd.

For as triggered as the Iowa fans get at Flo for the whole “Spencer doesn’t score as much after the first” thing, whenever it (rarely) does go all 7 it rings true. Up 7 at the end of two and doesn’t get the major against Jack Medley. But you are right, can’t see it mattering this year, at least in college.

This morning I'm reading....

- spencer lost the hodge
- ADs can jump and shout but not wrestle
- Lugo is up for a strongman award for riding parallel for 2 minutes straight
- Big Cass got Big Manned

Seems the team race is going to plan

I think Parris will knock off gable this year

Interesting that you are suppose to explain your opinion when Steveson TF Cass in freestyle. Seems to me the people thinking he could beat Steveson would be the ones that would have to explain themselves.

Now Mason Parris, he is going to be a problem for Steveson. He looked incredible last night. Big, strong and athletic, he may be on his way to a heck of a career.

184 is such a crazy weight class this year.

Guy beat you but you beat the guy that beat him. Over and over.

Is Assad injured, or or they still trying to figure out which of the 3 184 lbers is their guy?
