Ya, they actually have to wrestle the matches.Somehow it always looks good on paper with Iowa getting beat then they actually wrestle and it turns out different. So much goes into a dual it seems.

I see PK physically crowding Hamiti and making it hard for him.I think Ayala and Parco have the best chance to bonus. Spratley will bonus Cruz, no doubt. Jamison could easily bonus Schriever at 141. Teemer and Fish could be wild. I could see Hamiti bonusing Kennedy and Hendrickson bonusing Kueter. I give Okie St more bonus potential unless Caliendo can figure something out against Amine and his "staunch defense"
Leaving us out of it, Iowa usually brings it when their backs are against the wall. You don’t see them wilt like a Nebraska or Ohio State will periodically do. Plus it’s late in the season with some time before conferences so they can blow their lungs out.Somehow it always looks good on paper with Iowa getting beat then they actually wrestle and it turns out different. So much goes into a dual it seems.
True, they do have history 2 years ago. Hamiti beat him 4-3 in the dual and 9-6 at Big 10's. Probably not a great chance for bonus.I see PK physically crowding Hamiti and making it hard for him.
Our redshirt freshman Merril only lost 2-1 in a tourney this year. I also watched Surber vs Buchanan at big 12s last year. Was a close match and surber injured. This year he’s healthy. We shall seeI wouldn't count on this. Last year Buchanan beat Surber 6-2. Surber finished 10-9 last year and is now 17-1 this year.
Good analysis.I think Ayala and Parco have the best chance to bonus. Spratley will bonus Cruz, no doubt. Jamison could easily bonus Schriever at 141. Teemer and Fish could be wild. As I mentioned above, I did forget that Hamiti and Kennedy have history. Two years ago, Hamiti beat him 4-3 in the dual and 9-6 at Big 10's. So, probably not likely for bonus.Good analysis.
I think Jamison is bonus points better than Iowa 141 but in Carver that feels like a closer match than it should be.
It was 2-0 Buchanan over Merrill, but your point is correct. Buchanan escaped in the 2nd and rode Merrill the entire 3rd. Surber has looked good this year, bonus is highly unlikely. Two common opponents, Surber beat Munoz from Oregon St 5-0 and Buchanan beat him 9-5. Surber beat Stemmet from Stanford 12-3 and Buchanan beat him 17-1. Surber's only loss was Andy Smith from VA Tech at Cliff Keen, but he beat Smith in the rematch during the dual. Our redshirt freshman Merril only lost 2-1 in a tourney this year. Most of these guys weren't even in the portal before Iowa gave out offers. Will the best talent in the portal line up with the biggest needs for Iowa again? Probably not.

That too feels like bonus in any other arena (don’t tell the locals- I also think Hamiti and Haines is pretty close). As I mentioned above, I did forget that Hamiti and Kennedy have history. Two years ago, Hamiti beat him 4-3 in the dual and 9-6 at Big 10's. So, probably not likely for bonus.

Thats how I see it going down. Whoever gets the most bonus wins, will win this match.
They are both very good wrestlers and only one way to find out who gets the W! It could happen. How many more duals can Ferrari wrestle before losing his redshirt?Ferrari over Plott.
I see more than 3 bonus points in this match125: Spratley MD 4-0

Somewhere in the middle between PSU and the next tier down.Watched Iowa vs. Neb last night. Terrible. I bet neither squad had 10 takedowns. Rarely was there much scoring in P1 save one match which outscored the total of the others nine by itself. That’s why no one is close to PSU. Hopefully DT elevates OkSt to PSUs level.
Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder. Just reminded me of the movie "Jungle Cruise", I love Frank's jokes! hahaI'm pretty sure Carver lmfao
Surber beat #5 Little from Little Rock today 5-4.Our redshirt freshman Merril only lost 2-1 in a tourney this year. I also watched Surber vs Buchanan at big 12s last year. Was a close match and surber injured. This year he’s healthy. We shall see

So many great plot lines for that OSu-Iowa dual. Gilman back in Carver is worth the price alone.I think they go with PK 174 and Gabe 184 tonight regardless. Wouldn't shock me if we saw Brands against Hamiti next week. No doubt in my mind we see Angelo vs Plott
Show of hands -- who wants to see Gilman run into the Iowa huddle? So many great plot lines for that OSu-Iowa dual. Gilman back in Carver is worth the price alone.
Someone mentioned that they wouldn't allow Gilman and his family into the new training center last year even though he had lent his Olympic medal for display, and he wanted to show them. He asked for it back. The Brands are insecure little pricks. So many great plot lines for that OSu-Iowa dual. Gilman back in Carver is worth the price alone.

Way more to that story as well. Was around the time Oklahoma st contacted Drake about transferringSomeone mentioned that they wouldn't allow Gilman and his family into the new training center last year even though he had lent his Olympic medal for display, and he wanted to show them. I'm sure Iowa was really pissed. You have to be a real scumbag to have your people contact a wrestler before he's even in the transfer portal.Way more to that story as well. Was around the time Oklahoma st contacted Drake about transferring

If the refs let Ferrari back up stay on his knees with one or two feet out of hounds all match, then he could beat plottFerrari over Plott.
Ask around it's happening everywhereI'm sure Iowa was really pissed. You have to be a real scumbag to have your people contact a wrestler before he's even in the transfer portal.
I heard the story went a little differently than that. Was around the time Oklahoma st contacted Drake about transferring
We have all heard stories. Does that make them all true probably not.I heard the story went a little differently than that.
The most interesting part in my true story was that Drake was a full participant in the discussions before DT caught wind and nixed everything the friend of the program was trying to do.We have all heard stories. Does that make them all true probably not.
So you saw the calls on the caller ID ? Or screenshots of them? Since you know it's "true"The most interesting part in my true story was that Drake was a full participant in the discussions before DT caught wind and nixed everything the friend of the program was trying to do.
I'm simply agreeing with your comment that, "We have all heard stories. Does that make them all true probably not". I just think it's rich that an Iowa fan is calling out other teams for transfer etiquette. So you saw the calls on the caller ID ? Or screenshots of them? Since you know it's "true"

The rumors and stories about NIL amounts will ruin our sport. If the NCAA clearinghouse for NIL deals doesn't happen fast wrestling is in trouble. ADs at other schools hear these #s as well which isn't a good thing. Add all that in with the revenue sharing and over the next 5 years wrestling is gonna lose a bunch of D1 programs.I'm simply agreeing with your comment that, "We have all heard stories. Having a 3rd party contact a rostered athlete is LEGAL. It's happening at all the schools that have NIL $. Penn st is no different when it comes to this. Iowa St 3rd party has been VERY active this seasonIts the most common excuse in history. "But everyone is doing it."
