To paraphrase former Arkansas BBall coach Nolan Richardson:I see 2 years of FULL COURT PRESS in our future!
Oh sorry i thought Edmond deserved his own thread since his brother is a PSU legend....Ed Ruth finally wins a PIAA title.
@bbedford62 oughta be pleased with this one160 - Edsell (Wyalusing) vs. Farber (N. Lehigh)

5-1 Edsell final.
The right guy won. Farber did his best edge-hugging Chris Perry impersonation the entire match.
Reminder where is Courtney going ?Brian Courtney is going to be great at the next level.
Not following. Especially since my mention was state champion Ed RuthOh sorry i thought Edmond deserved his own thread since his brother is a PSU legend....
That's right...Thanks Used2Eerie. Appreciate it....Virginia
@bbedford62 oughta be pleased with this one
An old buddy of mine I went to school with has a son in the finals at 285. Hopefully Toby get another one for District 5..Congrats to the kid from Chestnut Ridge and district 5 for the championship at 145.
Congrats to the kid from Chestnut Ridge and district 5 for the championship at 145.
Mostly boring match. Nye is going to Michigan State, and he's probably gonna struggle in the B10. He had no offense, and for most of the match didn't seem all that interested in generating offense.
I see 2 years of FULL COURT PRESS in our future!
Is it "Berlin Brothers Valley"? Or is it "Berlin Brothersvalley"? Or is it "Berlinbrothersvalley"?
I've seen it all three ways believe it or not. Anyway, congrats to them. They are a co-op school are they not? I believe it's Berlin, Turkeyfoot Valley, and Rockwood combined?

There is the old duck under 20 seconds when the guy thinks your going to shoot...Just won him his 2nd Title....220: Cole Nye (Bishop McDevitt) vs. Josiah Jones (Bishop McCort)
Nye is a returning champ.
This is a rematch of last year's finals, won in UTB by Nye
Per 1
Jones with a TD on a throw by on a counter, 0-2. OOB. OOB at 1:32. Nye up quickly and out, 1-2. Nye going to MSU next year. OOB with 33 sec. End
Per 2
Jones takes bottom, and Nye pretty much releases him, 1-3. Jones nearly with a TD but they are OOB with 1:27. OOB at 1:03. OOB at 42 sec. OOB with 23 sec. End
Per 3
Nye takes bottom. Nye stands and Jones cuts him, 2-3. OOB at 1:47. Jones reaches, blocked, and OOB at 1:37. Nye reaches, and OOB at 1:19. Stall warning on Jones (questionable, IMHO). OOB at 1:06. Blood stoppage for Jones. OOB at 38 sec. Bloood on the mat so a stoppage. OOB with 16 sec. Nye reaches, blocked then a duck under for a TD with 12 sec left, and he wins 4-3. Wow. Jones had it, and got sloppy at the end.
Definition of involved = he wears a Penn State T-Shirt.Unfortunately, yes. Edmond Ruth has already been proclaimed as a 4-time NCAA champ by a guy who has been "involved" with the PSU wrestling program for over 25 years.
