Pitt/VT

Narduzzi = Brian Kelly. Has a major temper tantrum on the sideline. Breaks his headset. Funny to watch.

Pitt's DL is solid....really the only reason this game is close. VT basically has zero team speed on offense and Fuente's a fool if he's not throwing right at Pitt's corners all night. If they don't catch the ball they'll get 15 yds a pop based on their inept cover skills.

Hokies missed their chance.

Just saw that they were playing. 2 observations...pitt blows and we would destruction them now, and their fans are embarrassing. 5-2 against a ranked team in primetime and no one shows up? What a joke.

These refs are pathetic. That PI was nothing compared to what Pitt is doing every pass play

Left at the half and just got home. Long time Pitt season tickets holders estimated the attendance at no more than 24,000.

Listening to the broadcast on the radio on the way home I found Bill Osborn's comment about the VPI QB to be in very poor taste. After he was helped off the field, he says, "he talks a lot, now let's see how tough he is."

Pitt might win but the vaunted #PinnochioPat defense has given up 400 yards in three quarters.

Overrated!

Looks pretty damn tough, came back in and led them on a td drive and has them driving again.

I expected Pitt to be a dominant running team this year because of their OL. I didn't expect their offense to be so good because of their very creative play calling. So much misdirection. Jet sweeps, shovel passes, reverses, throw back to the QB, even a misdirection TD by an OL.

Say what you want about Nardouche. Pitt's offensive play calling is really good.

I think Pitt has pass committed pass interference on every play yet it's barely been called, yet Narduzzi is running around like a child

Classic comment by Jessie Palmer after the penalty against Pitt where everyone knew the snap count except the center.

"They can't blame it on noise, Pitt is playing at home"
Here's another one: "They dare you to call it (PI), then they go nuts when you do."

Assuming they are coached to grab on and play the odds of a no call. So far it has been a good decision.

I agree. Matt Canada has saved many a game for them this year because that defensive scheme is a sieve for any spread attack. Built for old Big 10 I formations not what offenses put out there today.

How about his spaz out when the VaTech corner just put his hand on the ASWP receiver? Spaz went running on the field and the refs actually threw a flag when it was patty-cake relative to the outright muggings ASWP has gotten away with on a near every pass?

As much as I hate Pitt and it pains me, right now I am actually rooting for Pitt to win because of the simple fact that we have an actual realistic chance to end the season 10-2 with a shot at a NY6 Bowl and it may very well come down to whether that week 2 loss to Pitt was against a pretty good Pitt team (possibly ranked) or average/subpar Pitt team at 6-6 or 7-5. If our 2 losses are against a B1G Champ Michigan at 13-0 and a 3 point road loss in week 2 to say a 9-3 Pitt team ranked in the top 25 it may very well be enough to convince NY6 bowl selection committees to pick us for say a trip to Pasadena, Miami or Orlando for big time game against a big time opponent in front of a big time nat'l audience. It'd be kind of disappointing to end the season 10-2 tied for the east only to go to the Holiday Bowl and play a team like Washington State or Colorado in December. Nothing against those teams, but not exactly a reward for a 10-2 season beating Ohio State and ending in a 3 way to for the east. Orange Bowl against Louisville or Citrus Bowl against Texas A&M and even Outback bowl in Tampa against an Auburn, Florida or LSU would be a fantastic reward for a 10-2 season. Holiday Bowl does nothing for us, as a fan I'm not going to Cali for a bowl unless it's the Rose and recruiting wise it doesn't do anything for us as we don't typically recruit that region nor have much exposure. We target many of the same kids as an SEC or ACC opponent would so off the bat it's a lot more positive exposure. Anyways sorry for the rant, I know full well we probably will end up 9-3 if we play well, but 10-2 is not exactly out of the realm of possibility, so why not hope for the best possible scenarios for our team. My argument is useless it seams anyways as Pitt just took a shit on itself in the 4th quarter and probably going to take the loss. Win Win I guess!
