@js8793 What is your take on Block? Is he going to factor in for you guys? Tough kid but not sure if he has a spot

This should be a good one. Think these 2 have wrestled a number of times

Never been super high on him personally, BUT he's gotten a lot better in the last year. I love that about him. I could see him having a spot down the road for sure. Not sure that's a great thing, but again, he's making big strides and has some surprising athletic ability. Chittum, may start at 149, but I see him at 157 eventually and Block might be my favorite long term 149 prospect on the team. If he doesn't fill out, he could step in for Real after a redshirt too.

He impressed me in this match. The way you guys talk about Kasak and the fact he's wrestled 149 a bunch, I thought this would be a controlled win. Block got screwed on a very clear takedown. That match should be in overtime. Well wrestled by both guys. Poorly officiated. What's new?

Thanks for the reply. He’s definitely come on and seems like he’s making strides consistently which is all you can ask for. I think the key for him lineup wise is being able to make 149 for multiple years. If he can’t then he gets in with Chittum and maybe even Kennedy if really grows and that probably isn’t great for him. At 149 though he could really solidify your lineup. I like him and how he wrestles so I’m hopeful he can make 149 and slots in for you guys. See some more battles with him and Kasak down the line

I wonder if the cut to 139 was tough on Kasak. He was starting to be slow to get up by the 1st, which worried me against a Sebolt kid. He was also doing the Eierman "let me fix my socks" move. All in all good, win wouldn't read too much into it.

Results? I’m on the road and need some help
121 Marc-anthony Mcgowan (USA) DEC Cael Nasdeo (PA), 3-0
127 Vinny Kilkeary (PA) DEC Braeden Davis (USA), 5-2
133 Cael Hughes (USA) DEC Jaden Pepe (PA), 6-0
139 Tyler Kasak (PA) DEC Ryder Block (USA), 3-2
145 Koy Buesgens (USA) DEC Mac Church (PA), 1-0
152 Dylan Gilcher (USA) DEC Ty Watters (PA), 6-5
189 Brayden Thompson (USA) F Jacob Jones (PA), 3:58
215 Gavin Nelson (USA) DEC Sonny Sasso (PA), 3-2
285 Matthew Moore (USA) DEC Layton Schmick (PA), 4-3

Davis got screwed. Had a single leg in the air late in the 3rd and Kilkeary went jumping cutback which is illegal and was super obvious but ref didn’t call it. Kilkeary got 2 and 2 from that sequence to win

Barr has really good feints but needs work on his setups. It’s by far my biggest area of concern with him. His length is a huge benefit but has also made it so he doesn’t always need a great setup against lower level competition. At the college level he will need both. I don’t see him struggling like Facundo from neutral but it is something he needs to work on going forward. I have no doubt he will. I’m very high on Barr and think he’s going to be phenomenal

Very Facundo-esque, which makes sense given the same high school coaching. But Barr has shown to be a much more willing shooter which is encouraging,

Sounds familiar.

Just watched that 127 match and that was bad. Not sure how Block didn’t get his two either. Is second ref just there for moral support?

I really need to watch Barr wrestle someone other than Welsh…those all seem to be sleepers.

They had a clock and scoreboard for part of the earlier event. I guess they just forgot for this. Not that important I guess.
My impression is that Flo should dial back the Flosports and concentrate its resources on wrestling. That’s where they made their name, and that is where their market is, still.

I have no marketing research to back that up. I only have a (biased) gut feeling.

I rewatched it and it was awful. Not only did he leave his feet, he kicked the back of Davis' leg to throw him off balance. Not only illegal but extremely dangerous. I have a screenshot but can't upload the picture here.
