Rumor or truth.

I was told Cael’s dad just became a Dean at Coe College.
I guess Mr. Lee will be leaving there within the next year or two.
Years ago, big time basketball recruit, Rasheed Wallace, verballed to UNC, and amazingly soon thereafter his mother was working for, I believe, the North Carolina Highway Department. The Wallace’s were from Philadelphia.

I could see it. Turn PSU over to Cody/Jake/Casey and some yet to be named assistant, further enlarging the already enormous Sanderson footprint on USA wrestling.

Downside, his family.

You are right. I will delete.
I say you can disagree with WEARE. Great journalists such as Woodward, Bernstein, and Saylor do the same thing as you did. They want to share the news, but details may be confidential, so they hold back the details. Stay strong! Endeavor to persevere. :)

The administration certainly has done a lot to piss Cael off the last few months.
1. Wick gate
2. NIL issues

Now allegedly a vaccine issue? lol

Cael will move on some sad day, but like the end of days, no one can know that date.

I am sure it will shock and sadden us all, but if you rank people and their respect for personal privacy from 1-100, Cael is about a 99. This is not a rumor he would let escape, and if it did, it would be in the newspaper, in headlines before anyone on this board caught wind. This is more likely just one of us breaking wind.

PS - Cael would never leave with Bo Bassett in the pipeline

Ha ha! I like the way you wishfully think! When my neighbor moves to another city, I’ll wish him to leave his Tesla and large-screen TV behind for me! :)

Nope. I don't spread mischief.
This was told to me by three people that i know really well. All three live in the area, all are season ticket holders, attend B10s and Nationals every year and are friends with people inside the
I live part time in State College and find that neighbors, folks at Wegmans, and even close friends like to occasionally trot out some juicy gossip. Such pronouncements are usually prefaced with veiled references to their “connections”. Sometimes these folks have had too much to drink and other times they want to show that they are somehow connected to the inner sanctum. I suppose this is a rather common human trait. It’s best to file the info away and not repeat it.

That’s good advice in general, but some rumors from some people are more likely to be true than others. I want to hear those likely-true rumors! (But I don’t want them near schools. :))

I've always found this to be one of the stranger conspiracies on this board. Larry Lee was a high level administrator at Carnegie Mellon! You don't think he could snag a job at a much less prestigious college like Coe? He basically took a demotion to be close to his son. Also, do you think Tom Brands is the Coe College puppet master? lol

Maybe the best thing is to delete the thread. Fine by me.

Assume it’s lingering Evan Wick-gate fallout

Allowing a coach to have influence into an academic department's decisions is as delusional as allowing an academic having influence in coaching decisions.

Right right. Academics never give any leeway whatsoever to athletics, particularly kids who can influence a National Championship, they should get in by the same standards as every other student.

In all fairness, I believe most on this board have the same kind of thoughts that you do. There are a few dumb ones though.

It wouldn't be so questionable, but the dean chair job is endowed through 2022 by an anonymous donor who goes by "Vodka is the path to compliance".

You guys are too nice. Cropduster would be disappointed. What happened to standing up for yourself? :)

Also, deleting a thread is extreme. Because you’d be deleting other people’s posts without asking their permission.

Sure, except that's not what Wick was about. There was no question about Wick being qualified for admission -- the problem was that his Wisconsin classes didn't map exactly with PSU departments, therefore PSU would've made him repeat more than a year of classes.

That's ridiculous inflexibility. PSU should have been able to transfer those in as Independent Studies credits, or at most made him take an Independent Studies class to verify what he learned. Not make him repeat multiple semesters.

B10 is supposed to be an academic conference, and yet PSU was unwilling to find academic commonality with a partner school.

That reasoning might have legs if Mr. Lee's position at Coe or his previous position at CMU was an academic position.

Bull$#!#. Any student transferring into a different school that late in teh game can often run into the same problems. Just because two schools offer the same degrees doesn't mean that the actual course requirements for that degree will or needs to be the same.

In Columbus per Ohio State board TIFWIW. Still thinks he ends up in State College...

Also, when Cal Poly accepts the credits, the decision just seems absurd. If it’s true that Wick wanted in and admissions passed.
