Snyder incident

He seemed so calm. I know he didn’t want this to happen but I wonder if it was a bit of relief as well in a way. I assume this wasn’t his first time doing such a thing so carrying on a double life and lying to everyone who loves you puts a massive amount of stress on you. Now it’s all out in the open and he can deal with it and hopefully move forward as a better man

Some folks have enough sense to not make things worse

"Just after they finished tightening his cuffs, though, they realized they were going to have to put pants on him to take him out of the room -- as there were other guests inside the hotel."

Sounds like it was the cops' first bust.

A man can remake, reinvent himself at any moment. There will be brighter days ahead for Kyle Snyder. I hope the strong brothership of NLWC remains by his side through it.

Looks like he’ll be on the sidelines for a bit courtesy of Safe Sport violation

They were following standard operating procedures. Get control of the situation and then reassess, let alone when you are arresting someone with the size, age, and condition of Snyder.

All of that is great and not relevant. The lead officer didn't reassess -- he proceeded immediately into the perp walk by announcing the "walk of shame" (his words) and starting toward the door. Another officer had to tell him that Snyder was bottomless.

I'm not sure how you don't notice the guy standing right next to you is pantsless. If you're the officer and assisting in cuffing Snyder's hands, they're below his waist. If you're watching his hips or feet, well ...

Or maybe the lead officer noticed and completely forgot until after they started walking him ... which says he hasn't done a lot of prostitution busts. Because cops who've done that before should reflexively know the perp might be naked and don't parade a naked guy through a public space.

If your situational awareness of a guy standing less than a foot away is that poor, then, well, good thing Snyder's weapon wasn't loaded.

I thought the first officer said he wasn’t going to walk him down the hallway and do the walk of shame. I took that to mean he knew he was not decent and they were going to fix him up before he left. I could be wrong, it happens all the time.

Chael Sonnen with a interesting perspective on the situation:
That was awful. Sonnen used a lot of words to say that Snyder's bad behavior should be ignored because of his athletic achievement.

Sorry Chael, that mentality is how we get the DeShaun Watsons of the world. Grow up.

Not saying Snyder is remotely near Watson, or that Snyder should be canceled or anything like that. He made a mistake. Hopefully it's his last. Hopefully in a few years it'll be largely forgotten, because he will have straightened himself out with no repeats. But it shouldn't be ignored or excused. That's part of accountability.

Decriminalize it by focusing on trafficking as opposed to independent sex workers. This involves a helluva lot of work.

Tim Tebow is talking about trafficking children here which is not the same thing as a hot gal who wants more cash to buy nice stuff.

Flawed point since many of the sex workers were trafficked. They are kidnapped, rapped, drugged and sold.

they were undercover cops justify that!!what your saying has zero to do with this!but no one disagrees with what your saying its all over the world and always has been, and always will be thanks to the rich in the world
And some of the hookers are children. Feel free to justify kidnapping, rape and slavery..
true and many Americans are involved in this!

I wonder if Snyder has a problem that he doesn’t want to talk about. I’m referring to sex/porn addiction. I know someone (another good wrestler) who ruined his marriage doing something similar. He was constantly on his computer visiting porn sites and also sneaking out to strip clubs for lap dances or more if the girls were willing. His wife started to get suspicious of his frequent and unexplained disappearances and had him followed. End of marriage.

What’s really insidious about this stuff is that people who are caught up in it are too embarrassed to admit to anyone that they have a problem. When I was living in WA, there was a guy at the church that I attended who had a similar problem. He was also the youth pastor at the church! He didn’t do anything illegal like Sandusky, but he must have been spending a lot of time in his bedroom with his computer browsing X rated web sites.

Fortunately, he finally came to grips with his problem and sought professional help. He also had the guts to tell the church elders about his issues and that he didn’t think it was appropriate for him to continue in his role as youth pastor. They agreed, but everything was handled in an amicable manner and he was still a member of the church when I last lived there.

Based on the scattered bits of information I’ve read about Snyder’s arrest, I wonder if he was doing something that he’d been doing for a while. If he has an addiction problem, he really needs professional help.
