Those in consi's haven't clinched placement points yet. Those in semis have clinched 6 placement points and can only get 10 more by finishing 1st. Since those in consi's can finish third and get 12 placement points and pin 3 guys (maybe 4, I forget) getting 6 (8?) bonus, that adds up to the 14 (16?) still available to those in the semi's.
Edit: they have the same number in consi's. No idea how that math works out. Sorry for wasting your time
Campbell is the only dude alive for them. I understand why Iowa’s max is really high (with 6 backside), but not tOSU. It’s either not updated or wrong.
As long as they still have a shot to be top ten... so they can keep their perennial streak alive.
Has anybody started a "concerned about the team at nationals" thread yet?
I am concerned that both Nolf and Nickel might get pinned in the semi-finals and then lose their next match to finish in like 8th place, am i overly concerned?
Not to be nit-picky, but those who place third can't get 12 more placement points if they lose in the semi's. The loser in the semi's locks in at least 6th place with 6 points, third gets you another 4 points. Consolation round advancement points are 1/2 a point for each match won except for the last match, so one more point for two more matches. I'm assuming that sixth place points have been already figured in for all wrestlers in the semi's, so the third place wrestler can only get 4+1 more plus bonus.
I think I got that right.
