Henckel made an unfortunate mistake. Just needed to stand up with his leg and walk him OOB. Would have won on criteria.

That said, Henckel got to Arnold’s leg twice…converted once and made a mistake to a good counter wrestler. Arnold is painfully boring to watch. Good fit at Iowa!

Barr and golf must wrestle a lot together, he is moving a lot like him in neutral especially his foot work.

Kind of ridiculous that McEnelly gets 2 out of that sequence when the giant hole in Barr’s head tells you what happened

Now, McEnelly's 2 pts comes off the board. I don't know why, but it's 3-0 Barr again

Credit to Barr for continually shooting, but man does he need to figure out his setups and finishes. Can’t just shoot straight on against everyone and hope to pull it in.

I dislike the grounded rule. McEnelly would’ve been teched with amount of times he’s just been pushed out.

Agree on grounded. But Barr still needs to figure out a better approach.
I agree to a point. He just beat a really really good kid twice in a row so what’s he’s doing is working. I do hope he can find more angles going forward though. It would obviously push him to an even higher level

The U23 field seems weak this year. Only a handful of AAs scattered through the brackets.

U20 Best of 3 Finals (PSU):
57kg- Luke Lilledahl vs Jax Forrest (Mat 4)
70kg- PJ Duke vs Kannon Webster (Mat 5)
79kg- Zack Ryder vs Gabe Arnold (Mat 5)
86kg- Joshua Barr vs Aeoden Sinclair (TBD)
92kg- Connor Mirasola vs Ryder Rogotzke (TBD)
*It looks like all of the "Best of 3" matches will be on Mat 4 or 5.

U20 Best of 3 Finals (Potential PSU):
61kg- Marcus Blaze vs Ben Davino (Mat 5)
65kg- Bo Bassett vs Aden Valencia (Mat 4)

U23 Round of 32 Matches:
61kg Gary Steen vs Vinnie D'Alessandro (Mat 8)
61kg Aaron Nagao vs Foster Cardinale (TBD)
86kg Lucas Cochran vs Justin Griffith (TBD)

I thought the same thing watching him at prep nationals. I wouldn't be shocked if he blew by 184 and wound up as Mirasola's successor at 197.
Mirasola is Class of 2024; Henckel Class of 2025, so the two are separated by only one year. Further, as of right now Mirasola will probably redshirt his first year at PSU, particularly if Starocci really does bump up to 197. If Mirasola is as good as we think/hope, Henckel would likely have only one season at 197. What might happen with Henckel before then, who knows? Maybe a couple years at 184, following Barr?

Great opportunity for Connor Mirasola to shake some demons. I believe the last couple of times he’s wrestled Rogotzke, he’s taken early leads with multiple takedowns, only to be stuck by Rogotzke’s ridiculous junk.
