U23s Thread

Here we go
  • 5:09 Berge called for passivity
  • 4:17 On the clock
  • 3:47 0-1
  • 3:18 T2 for Russia on a shrug by from underhooks 0-3
End of 1st
  • 1:58 Brady makes a committed attack, gets walked out 0-4. Russian taking injury time.
  • 1:10 Brady looks like he gets a step out, Russian slinks behind called 2, USA challenging, reversed. 1-4
  • 0:35 blood stoppage?
  • 0:20 step out from a duck 1-5
That’s how it ends

Brady couldn’t get past his head/hands, but otherwise looked good. Good chance he’ll get pulled in.

Bo is up in about 15 matches on B

15 minutes after the scheduled start time and no wrestling. looks like there's about 15 people in the entire arena. B.

Sounds like Rutgers fans bought up all the tickets even though none of their guys will be in the quarters & on, just like Big Tens at the RAC.

Berge looked better than the last time he wrestled the same guy. The takedown he gave up it looked like he didn't see the slide-by coming. Still, not a lot of offense to judge by. Looked better late, which you (understandably) couldn't say about any of his 149 matches.

not saying berge doesn't have a better tank up a weight, but injury time, challenge time, and blood time help that last push. the russian looked good. i would worry about his knee, he winced pretty hard when brady took a shot off the restart.

Suleymanov (AZE), who the RUS might see in the SFs, is no joke. Has some history with Mark Hall at JRs, but has been wrestling SRs the last couple of years with good results (e.g., 2nd at SR Euro Championships in 2018). Wrestled 86 kg recently, so a bit surprised to see him at 74 kg.

I thought they were on opposite sides, but was wrong.
