I can see how he lost his cool with Dardanes. Not there though. Lack of composure.
My thoughts on JRs as I watched a bunch of matches from the Lee's and Hall...
Nick Lee - puzzling performance, nice to see him finish with a win for 5th, but his late collapse against Turner in the semis and his inability to wrestle back into the 3rd/4th match were surprising to say the least. Hopefully he learned a lot and comes out ready to finish matches at his next tourney.
Joe Lee - surpassed my expectations! Had a great tourney with big wins and just found himself a little outmatched against Parriot in the finals. Great tourney!
Mark Hall - BEAST! He didn't look challenged for a minute the whole tourney...would've liked to see him go against the SRs, but he's got plenty of time for that down the road.
Wish we had RBY (at JRs) and Gavin going this weekend - would've been good to see how they'd do against a pretty tough field. Props to RBY for going for it though! Also bummed that Wittlake didn't enter, I thought he was planning on it, oh well.

I am not worried about Nick Lee at all. Hope he can red shirt next year if we have a strong 141 pounder. Then Nick can get 20 to 25 matches at the college level under his belt....He may end up at 149. He has the frame for it !!!!
I found out that I need to watch more free style or they need to change some rules..Never have been so darn confused than I was today..Zain got robbed , Stanford got robbed in the finals with Marsen from Okl but may be I just don't understand free style rules..
Don't worry, including the ref's, nobody does.
People criticize folkstyle for the lack of offense at times and promote freestyle for it's focus on offense, which is always more exciting to watch. However, focusing on offense only works if you can consistently get it right. This tournament seems to have been littered with really bad calls and no calls on guys being really passive.
There are so many times when I watch freestyle and a guy is put on the shot clock and I can't figure out why because they look like the aggressor. What I'm left with is a feeling that there is way too much subjectivity in freestyle.
His body of work is starting to look truly awesome. Its crucial that he have someone like Cael in his corner as he moves towards making history in the years to come.
Typical USA wrestling, force fed a full round of women and Greco before at least mixing in the men's freestyle finals and making sure it will be extremely late before conclusion. I am seriously considering not even trying to watch tonight. Don't think there is another sport out there that thumbs its nose at its fans like USA wrestling.
I think Greco is something you've had to participate in to be able to fully appreciate.
