Dunke: How do you know Jeff Walter?
No Pa state champ named Bobby Banks. I remember Bobby Banks winning WPIALS in the early 1970's. He was from Kiski Area. My brother beat him in a dual match wrestling for Kiski Prep in 1970.I wrestled against kiski area and bobby banks won states in 1994 at 103.
Cali....nice write up.
Rasheed needed today to make changes in dieting/habits. He will and will most likely be dominate. The real test for him will be the SS. if he holds his own that trip, March is going to a hole lotta fun. McFadden is a kid to watch. He got an upset over ISU and lost a close one to stanford. He is good and certainly not a bad loss, just a bad 3rd period.
I grew up with Jeff & Chris. Tell him Tim Auman said he's a fish.now now this is the intranet, where anonymity is paramount. otherwise I would tell you his son is in my basement right now playing hide and seek

Rasheed will most likely be dominate? Seriously? No idea what that statement is based on, but it seems way, way optimistic, doncha' think? I'll be very pleased with merely "solid" from Rasheed. And if cutting to 165 is giving him difficulty, being consistently "solid" may be a real challenge.
I'm with Dunk on this. We'll find out more when he faces Wilson at Stanford, but let's look at 165: Dieringer, Ike Jordan, maybe BoJo drops back down, then what?Rasheed will most likely be dominate? Sorry, you are right. Bobby Banks from Kiski Area lost in the finals to Jeremy Hunter 9-4.No Pa state champ named Bobby Banks. I remember Bobby Banks winning WPIALS in the early 1970's. He was from Kiski Area. My brother beat him in a dual match wrestling for Kiski Prep in 1970.

The current #3 (Ethan Ramos) squeaked past Hammond in OT at the Scuffle last year.
The current #5 (Austin Wilson) finished 18-18 last year.
After the top 2 (or 3 if BoJo drops), this is a weight that is ripe for the picking.
Yes seriously. We'll revisit.
Fine, I hope you are correct. I don't see it at this point, though granted the season just started and a lot can happen in the next 4 months. But "dominate" is a strong term, at least to me. I also note that you provide no justification for your position ....
justification....hmm..
Well...we could trust cael and the words he spoke in several interviews he has given where he raves about Rasheed.
or .......we could look at how the first 2 periods went when he had energy. Maybe you are looking down on McFadden since he didnt have a ranking, thats fair. I think McFadden is undervalued being a true freshman 2x NJ state champ and 3x finalist and will make a name for himself. Well he kind of already did by beating weatherman and losing a close one to Wilson. but if you arent following the sport to closely, i could see where this loss might surprise you. McFadden will be ranked this week.
maybe......I talk to a few people who see what happens in the room and convey to me the talent that Rasheed has. Garret Hammond seems to think Rasheed is pretty good and I happen to think Garret is a good wrestler.
maybe just maybe.....Im off my rocker in which case you have all the justification in the world to bring my "strong term" back up to me after every match this year.
Better than Hall? Or, do you think we would have gotten Hall if we had Chance?PSU is
real strong at 125, 149, 157, 174, 184, and 197. All are AA's and several will challenge for titles. Maybe all.
Solid at 133 and 141. Both should qualify and maybe AA.
Questionable at 165. Not enough to judge, yet. Could move up to solid. Boy wouldn't Marsteller look good here?
Weak at 285.
I'll have to inquire on this. I graduated in 90 and have not recollection of a Banks. Granted he would've been in our feeder program but the name doesn't sound familiar. I'll do a little research because when Cutch won the PA state title his junior year a lot was made of it being Turskys first PIAA champion.I wrestled against kiski area and bobby banks won states in 1994 at 103.
Thanks Nitt Fan for the link. I was beginning to think I was going crazy!!!No Pa state champ named Bobby Banks. I remember Bobby Banks winning WPIALS in the early 1970's. He was from Kiski Area. My brother beat him in a dual match wrestling for Kiski Prep in 1970.

Yeah, Bob Banks lost in the PIAA AAA finals to Jeremy Hunter in 1994. Doug Joseph also was a finalist in 1993 I think. He couldn't beat Jason Robison from Hampton. Joseph was an animal, arguably the 2nd best 189 pounder in the country but was unfortunate to have Robison as arguably the best 189 pounder in the WPIAL. I enjoyed watching both of them. And a kid named Doug Joseph graduated from Kiski Area and went on to win a Division II National Title for Gannon at 197 in 2001. He was a freshman my senior year at Kiski and ended up winning an NCAA Division II title in 2001....but he graduated HS in 93. He started at Syracuse, then went to Duqense (or vice versa) & ultimately ended up at Gannon. To date he is Gannon's only NCAA champion.
