Exactly, and I realize my viewpoint isn't the norm of this board but if we ain't playing I really can't get too excited about the outcome of other teams, even if it has an affect on the standings.
For good or ill I've become that guy too.
20 years ago, when you saw Weber St/Alcorn St at 1030 at night and thought "who the hell is watching this"...the answer would have been me. I would watch from the start of GameDay and not stop until I fell asleep.
Now pretty much just our games only

I love college football even beyond our games. I actually have not looked at other matchups yet though. I will be traveling for business and will have a chance to catch the Sooners at home so I am excited about seeing a game in a venue I have never been. Plus I have never seen the Sooners live.

Marshall vs Miami (OH). Sept 2. Should set the tone for Marshall's season. We will find out!

OU @ Ohiya. Because OU is going to win.
Texas @ USC. Because Texas fans down here at insufferable.
GA @ ND. Because I can't stand ND.
Meeeshigun vs. Florida. Because Meeeshigun fans are arrogant.

I think OU got stunned by OSU, they'll be ready this year, close game.
ND - GA the loser gets a major setback.
ST - USC Stanford plays nasty D and will attempt to make Sam D's day miserable or SC will light them up.
All good games nonetheless, week 1 is meh, while week 2 is a football bunker kind of day.

Sorry, I want UM to lose as often as possible.

The phrase 'Cutting off your nose to spite your face.' applies here. If we're undefeated and Michigan is undefeated, our home, night game with them will be bigger and have more on the line than any game we've played in a decade. Game Day will be there, the ratings will be through the roof and the Beav will be rockin' like never before. It'll be the perfect stage to showcase SB and Trace. It'll help recruiting. And it'll set up a possible #1 -vs - #2 the following week in Columbus if we win. Bottom line is the higher UM is ranked when we beat them, the more it helps us down the road.

The one thing I've noticed about "The Game" is that both OSU and UM understand the importance of both being good. In the rankings game, the winner gains more when defeating a team perceived to be really good and the loser loses less when losing to a team perceived to be really good.

No.

I hear you sir. Sound logic. My emotions take hold then,......No.

I want Michigan to suck as much as possible.

And then I want to beat their ass as much as possible.

I'm looking forward to watching pitt lose to Penn State, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, NC State, Duke, NC, Vo Tech, and Miami. They will finish with a 4 - 8 record and based on their horrific recruiting this may be their best record for many years to come.

The best thing about owning a pub in key west, is our customers come from all 50 states. All carry their own allegiance. Only consistent team on our televisions is of course Penn State !

Okay, but how satisfying will it be to beat them if they suck?
