I’m not offended, I just disagree.

Over the last 4-5 seasons I’ve done my own PSU points projections and have been +/- 5 points every year. Right now I’m predicting 185 points. I don’t see any way we end up at 148 unless we have a major injury at a weight where we lack depth. Even then I think we still crack 160.
you might not say you're offended, but you said 148 is 'a troll job'. (even though 148 is 3rd highest EVER).

mind showing your placements that add up to PSU 185?

Have you attended a World Series game?

I attended game 4 of the 1993 WS between the Phillies and Blue Jays. My 80 year-old father was a lifelong rabid Phils fan and I took him and my son, who was a freshan in college. It was raining and the game lasted over four hours, which made for a long and uncomfortable evening. Mitch Williams gave up 6 runs in the eighth inning and the Phils lost 15-14.
I am so glad I saw that game with my dad and have those memories.

Have you attended a World Series game?

When I was a kid my Dad had a side job (one of many) for a few years at the Vet as an usher for Eagles games. He would take me to all the home games and I'd sneak into the gate closest to his section. One of his buddies was a ticket taker; I would pretend to hand him a ticket and he'd let me through the gate. This buddy of his also worked Phillies games so my Dad sneaked both of us into game 6 of the 1980 world series. I don't know how he knew where to sit, but we had good seats for the game and didn't have to move. That was a crazy night. We took public transportation to the game but because of the celebration riots, SEPTA had to cancel some its service and we couldn't get home. My Dad didn't want my Mom to come get us so he and I spent the night at the substation where he worked and I missed school the next day.

I have a funny related story. Sometimes my Dad would allow me to bring my best friend to a game. On one ignominious occasion, as we were waiting outside the gate, in a panic I noticed my Dad's friend was not working the usual ticket entrance (I guess he was sick). Eventually my Dad found us and speaking through the gate told us to go down to the main employee entrance and wait there until the marching band arrived and just walk in with the band. Ah, okay Dad. Of course, it didn't work and a security guy picked us two 11 year old's out of the entourage and escorted us outside by the scruff of our Eagles jackets. My Dad was so pissed that he had to go buy tickets for us to get in that day. My friend and I still laugh about that today. The things my Dad would do to save a buck.

are PSU wrestling fans getting THAT bored that they have to invent ways to feel offended.

like the audacity of ONLY scoring 148?

or the audacity of possibility of the 184lb reigning champ beating the 174lb reigning champ?

Rumor: Home duals to be held at BJC beginning 2025-26

Have you guys been paying attention to what's been happening in college sports the last couple of years?

This is actually good news. It means the athletic department is making future plans with wrestling in mind and not just paying attention to football. And it means we will continue to have the resources available to keep the dynasty going 5, 10 years from now.

Whether there is anyone left to wrestle is another story.
Years? It's been decades.

I had friends at USC who had to donate to be eligible for student football tickets. This was around 1990.

PSU is always at the back of the line for monetizing opportunities, not just athletics. A $2.5B revenue Goliath that thinks raising money is icky unless by tuition bills.

But yeah, we gotta figure out how to ramp up to 30 scholarships and someday afford Cael's successor and double NLWC resident athlete funding. Not that these are urgent today, but Ira won't be around forever. Fail to plan, plan to fail.

Also how to overcome the new $20M/yr in Athletics revenue sharing. That **is** urgent.

I'd rather stay in Rec Hall, but not if it costs titles or someday puts the program at risk.

Question for any Browns fans

here is the longer version of the video. this is a GREAT idea:
  • frees up the most valuable land in the state: CLE lakefront
  • Creates a year-round venue for high-end events like the next generation's Taylor Swift or NCAA championships any time of the year
  • It is right next to the airport so you can fly in and out. Anyone who has seen a game at the MB stadium knows that you can buy a ticket and a $10 MARTA pass and watch a game.
  • Develops a lot of abandoned land that is next to the airport and used to be a Ford Factory. The land is just sitting there, undeveloped. Restaurants, hotels, shopping....all right next to the airport
  • Gateway and funding for improvement to the CLE airport which is older and rated near the bottom of pier group airports

Football Pair of former Penn State football players charged with felonies

How do you know that Franklin does not have sexual assault education presentations? I would be willing to bet that he has very good speakers address his players on the subject.

The thing that everyone forgets about major college football players is that they have been coddled and pampered and told how great they are from pop warner age and up. Many of them have been cut breaks for inappropriate behavior, lectured but without consequences more than once. After a while they come to believe they can do no wrong.

Coaches can lecture till they are blue in the face, but in the end it comes down to individual character and responsibility.
I suspect there probably was some amount of programming in place, despite the exasperated response from my detractors, and bravo to the staff if so. And now that the shit is hitting the fan after 3+ months of speculation that this was coming, it's a good time to amp that messaging up a bit.

And someone from the media is going to ask about it, so some coaching on how to handle those questions would probably also be a good idea for everyone associated with the team.

'wishing' lol.

why would i wish?

i don't understand why this is breaking everyone's brains. i think it's a coin flip match. i think Carter can 100% win.

but until i see ASC, i'm taking the reigning champ at 184 over the reigning champ at 174. it's not a grand conspiracy.
Fair. Just funny to lean on the 1x champ vs 4x champ that hasn’t lost in almost 4 years in the coin flip.

In other words, what you’re saying is that Keck is so excellent that nothing Starocci could have done since he entered college would have me pick him over Keck. Which is fine, but you can’t blame people for kind of rolling their eyes at it.

Jeez … I’m feeling a little queezy passing this along from meeting notes I received. Again, these are not quotes from Kraft, but, rather notes taken by an acquaintance who can be a bit hyperbolic about PSU affairs:
From meeting notes: “About the wrestling, AD Pat Kraft brought visual aids (slide presentation) to his talk about moving matches into the BJC. He said there will be two matches moved from Rec Hall to the BJC this year and at least 5 will be moved there next season. Their goal is to fully transition into the BJC by 2028. He already has the approval from the Board of Trustees to make his changes. Coach Sanderson was told that he needs to be on board with these changes if he wants to continue coaching at Penn State.” (Extraneous personal opinion removed). “ Kraft pointedly said there were plenty of PSU wrestlers out there that would love the opportunity to coach at their alma mater. “
I will take “this never ****ing happened” for $400 Alex
