This is obviously a black mark on Franklin's record here. He is accountable for all things that go on within the program. I understand it is difficult to control or be responsible for 100 football players and he can't be their babysitter but that doesn't get him off the hook.
You also have to look at Allen since these guys were on defense and the position coaches. What was missed if anything through their previous behavior? Were they good kids who made terrible decisions or were they "bad apples"?
We will wait for all the evidence and facts to come forward but this does not look good.
As for Joe and off field issues. He had them as well. The Chisley situation was horrible obviously, but not sure he had many major off the field issues back in the 70's and 80's when he was younger. Maybe he did and it was just kept quiet, who knows. Also, a different generation of players 40 years ago versus today.
