Thoughts after watching the replay

I don't recall the D in previous times this play was run but USC was running man-to-man. The two WRs cut inside and both defenders went with them. I am pretty sure that Nick should have been covered but there was no OLB or S there from the TV shot. He had the entire side of the field open.

It's been a welcomed add to the playbook. Particularly with a QB who can make multiple reads and RBs with good hands.

Watching it live, it looked to me like a block from behind though. I think that’s what Woodpecker was seeing. Difficult to see on my phone

Without rewatching, I can't say it wasn't a block in the back so I do see what you guys are saying.

I just thought the op was asking why the block was legal in this play vs a penalty on us prior.

I am so pissed at my sister

No one has asked the most important question ... how did you time travel back to the late 1950s, when families only had 1 TV?

Other questions ... why are the grandkids watching movies during dinner? Why wouldn't you be able to see that 23-30 was NOT the final score, when anything showing the score would also indicate the quarter and time left, letting you know, clearly, that this wasn't the final score? Why would you not look up what happened and why, before going to bed, if this game was that important to you that you're willing to sacrifice family time to watch it? How would you still not see the score in the morning before talking to your brother?

Tighten up the narrative to this silly made-up story.
what is funny to me is the you seem to be upset the person had one TV and in the next breath suggest the kids shouldn't be watching TV during dinner. Regardless, the game was 3:30 to 7 EST. After missing the entire second half, perhaps the poster wanted to not watch the final but see the entire game on replay.

In addition, the poster suggests that someone just showed him the phone implying that was the final score. Knowing PSU was down by 14, why would you question it?

Lastly, the poster said he didn't get home until 10:30 after being told PSU lost 30 to 23. Maybe he just went to bed.

I have to wonder why you care so much about the deets? Do you want to know if he took a dump or pinched a pimple too? Maybe he just gave us the crib notes to lower the amount of info. Do you need to know if the TV was in the kitchen, living room or family room? Do you need to know what ages the kids are and how they are doing in school? Were they sitting too close to the screen? Are they using LED lighting to save electricity? What kind of car was he driving? Did it have a radio? How tall is he? Most importantly, does his sister work out?

Ohio State vs Oregon

So, that's 16 teams and I'd add ND. This is how I see Georgia getting in at 9-3

Penn State, Oregon and Ohio State all go 13-0, 12-1 or 11-1....3 bids
Texas, LSU, A&M and Bama all go 11-2 or better...4 bids
Miami beats Clemson in the title game...1 lock
Iowa State wins the Big XII...1 lock
G5 champs--let's say Boise State but 1 bid

So, that leaves 2 at large bids
We're looking at:
Indiana 10-2 without a quality win
ND losing to USC with their best win as Army/Navy at 10-2
Pitt 11-1 without a quality win
Clemson 11-2 with their best win being Pitt
The Big XII teams at 10-2 with their best wins being against each other

Do we really think a 9-3 Georgia is getting left out with their win over Clemson in what is considered the strongest league?

Maybe they shouldn't get in but they'd probably be ranked about 10th. If they lose to Texas this week I think they fall no further than 8

Sorry--we should add Iowa to that list because they have a great shot to be 10-2 but a blowout loss to Ohio State and a 1 point loss to Iowa State isn't bad but they haven't beat anyone--best win would be Wisconsin or Northwestern. Not sure who made their schedule. No USC, Oregon, Penn State or Michigan. Hell they didn't even get Indiana
IMO, a 9-3 Georgia is not going to be the 5th SEC Team in the playoffs over all 6 of the teams mentioned above. Cutting out 2 ACC teams (especially when one is Clemson) + ND, each with less losses than Georgia, to give the SEC 5 teams in the playoffs is not going to happen. I understand how the head to head arguments for each of the above teams may arguably favor Georgia, but the broader argument set forth above is simply not going to play well anywhere and will trump the head to head arguments.

IMO, there is a better chance that a 9-3 Georgia makes it as the 4th and final SEC team to make the playoffs than being the 5th SEC team to make the playoffs over the above 6 teams.

ALCS/NLCS Who are you rooting for? Who will reach the WS? Are we all Cleveland Guardians fans now?

As a Pirate fan I always kept an eye on and rooted for the Indians. I loved the history that Bob Hope owned the Indians and Bing Crosby owned the Pirates. Bob Feller was a true American hero with the stature of Ted Williams. After the Indians changed their name they’re dead to me. I hope they make the curse of the Bambino look like a vacation.
