Rumor: Home duals to be held at BJC beginning 2025-26

That's already the way everything is handled. Waiting list is by NLC points.
Yes, the waiting list is handled that way. But allocation for current season ticket holders is not. If they start from scratch using the BJC, I would be amazed if they don’t start by using NLC points to allocate all of the tickets regardless of whether or not you were a prior season-ticket holder.

Rumor: Home duals to be held at BJC beginning 2025-26

Yep, For comparison purposes I recently renewed by 2 season tickets to PSU wrestling for $580. 30 years ago in the mid 1990s 2 SEASON tickets cost $10 and yet there is a long waiting list to get season tickets. If they double the price next year and the year after do you think PSU wrestling will still not sell out season tickets? The correct answer is they will sell out. If you put out a team like Cael and the coaches have the fans will pay to be there.
Are you saying they will sell out a full home season at BJC? No way. Absolutely no way in hell.

It won’t just be a $50 contribution to the Nittany Lion Club. You can just bet that if things are connected to the Nittany Lion Club, tickets will be awarded based on Nittany Lion Club points, not how long you have been getting season tickets.

PSU/tOSU at noon on FOX

I don't think it matters near as much when it comes to the marquee games (ie PSU vs OSU is going to draw huge ratings regardless of time slot if we both enter the game undefeated / 1 loss) compared to the lesser games that get the benefit of the travel crew at your stadium and a 2 hour preview show that highlights the teams.

"
1. Ohio State at Oregon
Channel: NBC
Date/Time: Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET
Viewers: 10.4 million

Oregon’s 32-31 win over Ohio State in the top-three matchup drew the largest primetime audience for a regular season Big Ten conference game since 2008. The game averaged 10.2 million viewers across NBC, Peacock and NBC Sports Digital. NBC Sports’ audience peaked at 13.4 million viewers in the game’s final minutes. Ohio State-Oregon is the most-watched primetime regular-season matchup between Big Ten teams since Oct. 25, 2008 (Penn State-Ohio State, 10.4 million viewers on ABC)."

I know that CBS drew better ratings with the SECs #1 game at 330 than they have with the typical 2nd or 3rd pick Big 10 games in the same slot.

Overall, the brands involved, the stakes, they matter a lot more than a specific time slow (if noon was the best slow, you better believe that ABC would be sticking their best game in it weekly too). However, when it comes to pumping up a week with no marquee games, Fox is doing well in the noon slot.

Willie's Crystal Ball for 2025

thanks for reading.

i think you guys are over reacting on the finals hth's. 1) listen to the rationales on the show 2) they are pretty insignificant in team point total

197 i'm taking a wait and see approach. Barr is my dude and i hope he crushes it. there just isn't a whole lot of data on him vs the guys in the field at 197.

overall, my preseason projections have this PSU team with the third highest point total OF ALL TIME.

so, ya know, let's put things in perspective here.

And in this new age of NIL and with no more 9.9 scholarship limit, if you want Cael to continue to put out teams like he has in the past, then fans will have to pay. That is reality. Sucks for the 6,000 current season ticket holders but is a blessing for the 7,000 on the waiting list that rarely get to take in a match at home. We heard the same complaints years ago when the football season ticket seating was rearranged to benefit those donating more to PSU athletics and they aren't hurting for ticket sales today. Same thing will happen with wrestling.
Thanks. I have to put my two cents in here. I am the Treasurer and the Chairman of the Membership Committee for the Penn State Wrestling Club. Every April at our Awards Luncheon we give our excess funds to Penn State Wrestling, We have now given over $100K to Penn State Wrestling for the last 13 years Membership is only $35/year and gives you access to our website, 4 newsletter each year, the annual Town and Gown Winter Annual and the PSU Wrestling Media Guide and a Team Photo if you contribute $100+ to the Club. Plus access to Wrestling Club Bus Trips at discounted rates and hotels at BIGs and NCAAs with other Penn State Wrestling fans. I did not mean to make this a solicitation for the Club but just could not help myself, Link to the PSWC website is below. You can join online or send a check to the PO Box Office address.

Willie's Crystal Ball for 2025

I can't find Byers but I specifically recall him saying he expects Davis to redshirt next year (at NCAAs) because there is no way he can get to 125 anymore. It sounds like with Nagao being nicked up and Davis just being ahead that the redshirt isn't likely anymore.

Cael similarly when discussing pulling the redshirt said it makes sense because Davis already has to "discipline himself" down to 125 so he didn't expect he would get any more years out of Braeden at 125.

Davis looks noticeably bigger (without any body fat at all) now than he did even at NCAAs and Willie is already talking about 141.
Thanks so much, homie!

PSU/tOSU at noon on FOX

This logic seems odd to me. A night time game that ends at 11 PM is a far worse traffic issue for fans than a noon game. The parking lots are, well, parking lots with no movement of the cars for a long time after the game ends. And you are then talking about driving back home into the wee hours of the night.

If I were going up on game day, I'd like 3:30 the most but would absolutely prefer a 12:00 PM game to one at 7:30 PM.

I drove up and back same day for the Bowling Green game this year (I live ~3 hours away) and had no problems.
Where did I once advocate for a "night game"? I just said that noon sucks.

"(which has been confirmed by the coaches and Byers also"

Ooooh, I missed this/these. Any chance you could hook a brotha up with a link? tia!

I predict Davis will jump another level at 133 just from more time in the room but also looking at him recently, have to imagine the cut to 125 was brutal by the end of last year (which has been confirmed by the coaches and Byers also) Similarly, he is a fiery kid (has to learn to control his emotions better) and I know he's hungry to avenge the end of last year.

Other PA collegiate program discussions

PSU was still a very good team in the top ten many times before Cael Pitt not so much!
And we were happy with that -- even though none of those teams were within reach of the title.

We said we weren't, but we didn't actually do anything about it until Coach Lorenzo retired to become fundraiser in chief.

We also had a lot of finishes outside the top 20. Which never should have been acceptable.
