Football Pair of former Penn State football players charged with felonies

Yeah the hell with the parents telling their kids rape and sexual assault is nor acceptable. Geez.
OK, well you Rip, and/or Obliviax can feel free to name another Head Coach who is currently employed who has two major gang rape scandals involving his players at two separate Universities.

Are we going to just say "Shit happens!" when it happens a third time?

PSU/tOSU at noon on FOX

If you need until 7pm to get to the game and make a difference as a fan, then I am sorry but you are a pu$$y. Sick and tired of this fan base crying and bitching about noon start times. Michigan somehow made it to the stadium last year at home against Ohio State at noon and beat Ohio State. If you are who you say you are, you show up on time and you win the damn game.

No more excuses.
Well $500+/night for 2 night minimum hotel rooms doesn't help, and there are only so many of them anyway. So in order to enter the stadium one hour before kickoff (Gate B was horrible for UCLA), that means leaving the house no later than 8:00am for anyone with a 2 hour drive (IF traffic flows normally), and not getting home before 7:00pm-8:00pm. And God bless anyone who lives 3-5 hours away!

Later start times help with the flow of traffic and stadium entry.

Franklin has repeatedly claimed that it's a "family environment", and so this is a conversation that the staff should be having with its "sons".

“That’s really important to me and I think it’s really important to Penn State, that sense of family and community,” Franklin said.

These athletes are on campus because the coaching staff encouraged them to enroll, allegedly to get an education first, and to play a sport second. They are being "compensated" to be a part of the student body (normal students pay out of pocket for tuition, room, and board), and some feel that they should be held to a higher standard (whether right or wrong). So the coaches do bear some degree of responsibility when this kind of stuff happens, regardless of whether that is fair or not. Any coach from any program can bury their head in the sand and say "Well, can't control 100 kids!", but that is a complete cop out.

I don’t even have anything to do with the football program, but as a rational human being I am mortified and embarrassed about this situation. If it's an aberration, then so be it, but if it becomes a pattern moving forward, then the coaches' responsibility increases exponentially ("Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me").

There is no shame in you being stupid you were born that way. When did the position of head coach make anyone omnipresent. The message for you in this post is pissing in the wind is bad for your health.

Willie's Crystal Ball for 2025

Levi and Carter losing have to be considered significant upsets no matter how you slice it and resurrecting their competition.

How often does PSU have prior national champions lose in the finals?

It's happened but not often. I still say RBY was injured btw.
I'd pick Levi, but I don't see how a 1x champ losing to a 2x champ would be a "significant" upset.

BTW, defending champ Max Dean finished 7th at the same weight with no apparent injury. He didn't lose in the finals that year, though.

Cenzo also lost in the finals as a 2x champ. Mark lost as a 1x champ. It happens, thankfully rarely.

Stock market update

We haven't heard from Eduardo lately.

The market is near all time highs with stock prices growing faster than profits. The current PE ratio of the S&P 500 is 26.4 which is historically high and higher than other countries. I thought this was interesting:

OK, since Eduardo's no longer here, I'll play his role. Hell, somebody has to do it.

The reality of life in America's post-modern economy is that if you're heavily invested in equities, you're doing very well. However, if you don't have the resources to be heavily invested in equities, you're left getting by as well as you can...which may not be all that well.

You're likely not buying houses...not starting families...may be still living with your parents well into your 20s...may be holding down two jobs to get by...etc. I mean, there's a reason that polling shows 75% of the population thinks the country is on the wrong track.

I'm ballparking that maybe 20% (or less) of the population is thriving in what has become a system increasingly divided between haves and have-nots. For example, fed data last year showed that 10% of the population owned 93% of all stocks. It's to the point where a majority of the citizenry need no longer apply for membership in what was once quaintly called "The American Dream."

With the federal debt approaching $40 trillion, now almost $1 trillion of that being service on the debt, I don't think this situation is sustainable in the long-term or healthy in the short-term. In fact, we're one crisis away, whether it be domestic or international or a combination of the two, from a massive correction that may shake the system to its core.

Have you attended a World Series game?

Have you attended a World Series game? I was going to add in person but that would be redundant although in many cases announced attendance figures are the amount of tickets sold and not those in actual attendance as it should be. But I digress.

I have not and it's a giant vacuum on my sports bucket resume and being a Pirates fan it may be a hopeless cause which may lead me to go to Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland or Philadelphia one day if I ever hope to attend a World Series game.

So what WS games have you been to?

10, 9, 8, .....

Good question. If they had, I am not sure how we would know.

But there is an administrative element to this, too. To be approved by the committee I imagine a submission has to be made to the committee. Who would have done this for Ferrari? He was not affiliated with any school, nor did he have any access to resources to guide him through the process prior to the Olympics. And I cannot see him navigating that process on his own.

That would leave retroactively applying, with CSUB assistance perhaps. Maybe that is a thing. I do not know.
"Who knows?" is the correct answer for all things Ferrari.

In this case though, it's likely just a formality. Barring a major incident, NCAA isn't denying one for any athlete without first consulting the sport's national body (USA Wrestling). And if USA Wrestling doesn't want him developing, then he's going MMA.

IMO if it happens, it's because Slumlord Bob opens his wallet again in a few years. Otherwise it's likely moot.

Why did you make the statement in the first place?

We went from felonies to you complaining about players smooth talking girls.

Ps. Some players even tell girls they love them. Franklin needs to put his foot down. Sarcasm
